I purchased this product in the hope that it would at least remove some of the mortar on the brickwork down the side of my house. As it turned out, it actually removed ALL of the unsightly mortar stains which had been there on the brickwork for over nine months, so being able to remove that mess came as a huge relief to my wife and I.There are lots of conflicting views on how best to deal with mortar stains, so I did my homework and worked out what I feel is the best way of dealing with the issue. Cementone Mortar and Brick Cleaner seem to be the ‘go to’ product used by many tradesmen, so I opted to purchase a 5 litre container and went to work. For stubborn stains you can use this product neat, or dilute one part cleaner to four parts water in a plastic bucket. I decided to mix one part cleaner to two parts water (remember to put water in the bucket first, then add this cleaning acid - to prevent splash-back back). I made sure to wear some of my old clothes which covered all bare skin areas, and wore some rubber gloves, safety goggles, and a face mask. I firstly sprayed down the brickwork with water (this helps your cleaning acid to work on the surface of your bricks instead of soaking into the bricks). I then methodically worked from the top bricks down using a couple of small stiff bristled nylon brushes. I did that for about five minutes, then left the cleaner on for another 2-3 minutes before thoroughly hosing the brickwork down with clean water. To be honest, I was amazed at how well this cleaner performed because the first application appeared to remove most of the mortar. However, to be 100% sure, I repeated the cleaning process two more times before leaving the wall to become totally dry. As you can see from my ‘before and after’ photographs this stuff really does work! Because of the very positive results I achieved, this is a product I’m happy to recommend to fellow Amazon customers. Great product for after re pointing brick work cleans them up perfectWould advise anyone don’t dilute it as it’s so much better straight

This product contains acid so you need protective clothing. Purchased gloves etc and wore overalls,also eye protection and long sleeves. I used the product to clean the bricks under the windows that had lime deposits on them. I needed a stiff hand brush to apply and assist with the job. I wouldn’t say it’s easy but also it’s not to hard either. Care is needed but eventually it did the job.
