Hilarious packing issues aside (the package was smaller than a drink coaster but shipped with no paper or padding in a box bigger than a shoe box), I've got no issues with this product. They fit snugly in my 2009 GTI license plate bulb housings and they light up when they are supposed to. Install is easy (couple of screws per side, then pop out the old bulb and wedge the new one in). I had aftermarket LEDs in the housings that developed intermittent flickering and then full failure, and these are sadly not nearly as "pretty" as the LEDs were, but for a few bucks they'll cast unwavering light and save you from getting pulled over for a bulb-out check while you decide if you want to deal with the price and apparent hassle of LEDs again.

For 08 Elantra, it takes just a few minutes to replace the plate lights. Philips screwdriver needed to remove the plastic cover to change out the bulb; there's nothing else to disconnect or reconnect. Intuitive, no instructions needed. $3 and 3 minutes per bulb DIY is a lot cheaper and faster than mechanic. One mechanic previously charged me $28 to replace one bulb, and another mechanic charged $49 for one bulb.

The Mini Cooper needs two (which these were). Getting them in is an exercise in brain surgery. The bulb is a cylinder and the opening is too tiny to get your fingers into. After dropping the bulb on the ground half a dozen times and having it fall into the back of the holder i ended up using an old Buss fuse puller to get it in place. The bulb is not very bright, but there's really no need for it to be. Its only function is to put light on the license plate...which they do. If i were buying bulbs for a cabin light, i'd go with LEDs.

Great bulbs so far. Best value on Amazon for 2 bulbs with long life. They fit my license plate perfectly. If you aren’t sure if these will fit google your bulb number and search cross reference numbers. Many bulbs are the same but have different numbers
