This book was excellent for finding the right backing route for me. It lists many different options and gives great descriptions on important attributes of each trip, such as: solitude, length, elevation gain, campsites, permit process, scenery. The descriptions of each trip were extremely detailed as well, for route finding. Would highly recommend this for people who are trying to find cool backpacking trips in Wyoming!

Great backpacking guide! Concise collection of backpacking trips in a format difficult to find for free online. Shows where water and potential campsites are as well as tons of other useful information and tips for the specific area. Well done and highly recommended!!

It focuses on longer trails- ones that are multi-day hikes. It covers a lot of trails with good detail that is not found in other guides.

This has to be the best organized backpacking book I've read - lots of nice tools for planning your trip, and great hikes - they've opened my eyes to the wonderful wilderness around Wyoming! My hat's off to Mr. Lorain - a fine selection of hikes and an outstanding guide to getting out there!

Generally, any of the state backpacking series from WP are great quality. This one is no different. Very well thought out routes and good descriptions of the trails.

After reading through most of the hikes in this book, I cannot wait for summer. It will be exciting to explore more of Wyoming instead of the places I seem to go to over and over again. Summer here we come.

Too many guidebooks take it easy on the reader. Not this one. Backpack trips are between 18 and 70 miles. Very definitive. Doesn't try to be all things to all hikers and waste space on easy dayhikes, which can be found elsewhere. I cross-referenced several trips with other books and found these descriptions better. Ratings for difficulty, scenery, and solitude.
