The FIVE STAR review is for the product which works great, if its brand new and you prepare the surface properly before application. The ONE STAR review is for the merchant/seller that advertises a picture of the New Reformulated product in their ad, but then ships you outdated old inventory. How can you tell? The outer box graphics are different. The one shown in their ad is the new product. The one shipped doesn't look the same. In addition if you also smell a strong chemical odor and if any of the packs inside the box are swollen like a balloons, return the product as it will not perform properly. Most of the coating has already evaporated. Plus its hard to apply an even coat by adjusting adjust the pressure. Most of the coating goes on during the first 2-3 wipes before the pad starts to empty. If it cam in a spray or in a bottle, it would be easier to adjust for an even coat. There is no way to achieve the square footage claim on the box, there's not enough in each packet, as they evaporate during storage, thus shelf life is poor. (Check the date on the bottom. If it's 2020 or older, I would return/exchange the product)

I ordered two sets of 6 pads for a total of 12 pads. 6 of them were bone dry and the rest were barely adequately covered with the medium. I have a 6 piece set that I wanted to refresh and I was able to barely cover two ottomans.The product itself is decent - the ottomans look nice - though it's not yet set, I just finished them and came in to write this review. The delivery medium is abysmal. They should give you a bottle of the fluid with a few pads and let you apply the product yourself. I had read reviews of this product and another and purposely went with this one because it is RUSTOLEUM and I have had great success with their products. They need to change the packaging on this product.Amazon issued a full credit. Thank you!

Our shutters in a seashore environment were brought back to life. The wipes didn't fully remove the oxidation from the vinyl shutters, but they did one heck of a job. They seem to work by removing a layer of film or color. Not sure how many times we can repeat the process on the shutters, but we are super happy. The smell is overwhelming when you first rip open the packet so don't hold it close to your face like we did.

Every five years or so, the Sun does it’s job and seamingly sucks the color right off the shutters! But with Recolor - WOW! Take a hose with a little pressure to wash off the dirt - then once dry -apply Recolor and magic appears - the shutters look new again!

I was hesitant to order this product and it was a last-ditch effort to save our 11 year old metal patio set and two 15 year old metal patio chairs. I thought I would be receiving the bottle of product, but received 2 boxes of wipes - 6 wipes in each box. Five of the six wipes in the boxes were usable - one was dried and brittle in each box. The wipes that were usable worked wonderfully and darkened and restored the metal finish - they really do look good. One wipe covered one entire chair and about half of another chair. The wipes have an extremely strong smell - open them outdoors and wear the gloves. I also used a wipe to restore our metal patio door frame and it looks great.

Waste of money it didn’t work

Product made a big difference In making the weathered black arms and legs of our Brown Jordan outdoor table and chairs look shiny again!We recently had the lounge chairs that go with this set recovered and arms powder coated. This product, while not quite as perfect as new powder coating, did a really good job of making everything look great.I would recommend this product and I would buy it again.

I ordered 2 boxes. The wipes are individually packaged, and then vac sealed in a clear bag. The box that had a outer clear bag with a hole in it- those wipes were mostly dried out and hardly worked. The box with a perfectly sealed outer bag- those wipes worked and completely brought back to life a faded green plastic Adirondack chair!I would definitely recommend opening the box immediately to check on the inner packaging. If it’s intact, I would still recommend using the wipes within 3mo of ordering to ensure they work the best!
