Createx Colors Transparent Base Paint for Airbrush, 8 oz

I came across an internet video where someone was showcasing mixing mica powders into airbrush topcoats/varnishes and had to try it. I've always wanted airbrush ready paint that had a "chameleon" color shifting effect. In summary, it kinda works... Heavy mica powders do mix in with the topcoat of choice (I tried matte varnish and gloss topcoat) but they separate quickly. Poking around on Amazon, I came across this and decided to try it. Again in summary, this works really well!!.......WITH the RIGHT mica powder. Exactly what makes a mica powder "right" for this is something I haven't figured out yet! Diving into detail... I've got a variety of mica powders since I resin cast as a hobby too. Only the chameleon mica powder I ordered at the start of this experimental venture would mix in well with this transparent base paint. Every other mica powder I tried just would not mix in with this paint, to include glow-in-the-dark powder that is really fine and dense, to metallic and pearlescent powders that were clumpy and just floated to the top of the paint, and normal colored powder that would again just clump and float. But, the chameleon mica powder I got blends nicely into this transparent base and it stays mixed for the whole time I'm airbrushing with it! When I used a topcoat, I'd have to airbrush for a few seconds, then back-blow air into the airbrush's paint cup to remix the powder, airbrush a few seconds...rinse and repeat. I can take care of all my airbrushing tasks in one sitting with this paint having the mica powder mixed in. So, while I can't really recommend any mica powder to use with this, aside from chameleon color shift powder, if you do want that metallic color shift effect that isn't as subtle as common acrylic color shift paint, get a bottle of this and chameleon mica powder, and some jars to keep your mixes in and have fun!

I've used this product for years. I haven't opened this one yet, because, I'm not done with the last one. It arrived on time, and was packaged well.

Performed as expected

Item was delivered with some of the base all over the inside of the packaging. Upon inspection, I found the tip loose and there was no foil seal.

Excellent product for an excellent price.

Pretty good stuff

Haven’t used the product yet but I received a bottle that’s been previously opened and appears to have been around since the Stone Age by the beat up faded label.
