Must-have for on demand grinders
The media could not be loaded. This is a good WDT mixer for espresso. But it's an amazing WDT tool for on-demand grinders. If you are mixing in the tamper, this tool has some loops that might be worth clipping off. But that's not my use case- I'm using a fairly large on-demand grinder. It's close to perfect- if I spent an order of magnitude more on the grinder maybe it would be! So instead, I use this $16 tool to make it perfect. Here's how it works: as grinds come out of the chute into your funnel, hold the wdt tool in the path. This breaks the clumps on the way down, and you don't actually need to do other puck prep in my experience. I've had stunning results with this technique- you can check out my video to see what it looks like in practice. To sum up, if you need an ultra fine wdt tool, keep looking. But if you grind on demand, this is a really valuable addition to your kit at a great price point. The materials are perfect, of course. It's just a matter of the exact use.

MATOW WDT espresso stirrer
Nice Stainless steel wdt. Very sturdy and works well. Not cheaply made like the aluminum handle ones.

didn't like those little loops - cut them off
didn't like those little loops - cut them offOtherwise stir it around in the grounds and it does a good job of breaking up clumps. Seems to be very well made.

Essential Tool
If you love your coffee and have a coffee or espresso machine, this tool is essential. It really breaks up any clumps and makes dispersion so easy. It’s made of stainless steel so it’s pretty much indestructible

The right idea but not exactly what you want.
The fact that you're looking at this product means you probably are trying to find a WDT tool to distribute coffee grounds for more even espresso extraction. You're on the right track. However, you don't want this tool, because the loops at the ends pull clumps of bean around, creating the potential for water channeling anywhere there is a weakness in the puck dredged by the loops. You want something much smaller for WDT or raking. Jam some toothpicks into the end of a cork, and that will be better.Even better, get a tool with even finer needles (0.3mm 0.4mm?) because they will pass through the grounds and distribute them without displacing and dredging out channels.Source: I've been trying different products and approaches for home extraction for months. I bought this, and I don't use it anymore.Photo: toothpicks in some baked sculpey clay, and another tool with trimmed acupuncture needles which is my preferred tool

Round ends are great when using paper filter
I use a paper filter in the bottom of my portafilter, and these round ends, along with knurled handle, make it easy to spin and mix grounds all the way down to the filter without tearing or bunching-up the filter.

YES!
The more pedantic "experts" will tell you that you need to use a device with very fine needles (like acupuncture needle fine) to break up clumps in your portafilter basket.I say - MEH, we're making a cup of coffee here, not performing rocket surgery.A quick whisk of my ground beans and they're as fluffy as all get out.I WILL admit that I might be slightly biased in my opinion, as I'm a total freak for anything knurled. So take my review with a grain of salt...and maybe a couple of asprin. ;)

Gets the job done
No amount of WDT will help if you can't grind fine enough but this sure help with clumps. I grind some city to full city roasts (light to medium, less brittle, harder to grind fine) in an Baratza Encore with upgraded M2 burrs. The upgraded burrs help grind nice and fine but the Encore is not an espresso grinder and I can get some pretty bad clumping. With this tool I can get beautiful distribution, I am super happy with this purchase!

Improved puck consistency. Warning: funnel is highly recommended.
I used to use a fork to declump my ground coffee before buying this. One of the review here said that using this tool for distributing under helped and I confirm, that's also what helped improve my puck consistency overall. I can still break big clumps with this tool but I don't break other clumps like maybe I could with needles. In the end declumping is not really important, at least for what my grinder gives me: distributing under is what helped the most. Finally, as other have said, using this tool with a funnel is highly recommended to avoid losing quite a bit of coffee grounds.

Filamentos muy gruesos
El producto es bueno sin embargo son muy gruesos los filamentos por lo que es muy complicado agitar el café para deshacer los grumos

Best distribution tool I've used yet
I've used everything from the humble paperclip right up to an expensive aluminium coffee flask shaker thing and this has been by far the best. The closest thing in design I've used was a small whisk that I cut and bent the cut ends of the metal into hooks. It should have been as good, but it was awful. Somehow this does what I couldn't get the whisk to do.Used in conjunction with a XUNADA 58mm Espresso Dosing Funnel to prevent grinds escaping and together they do a great job.

Siebträger Must-Have
