Great recording tool
I was a bit sceptical when I first saw the Line 6 Pocket Pod and wasn't too sure what to expect. I needn't have worried though because this does exactly what it should do.There are a whole heap of tones within this unit so even a true novice like me can find something to suit there style. You get the option of using batteries or a 9v adapter (not supplied!) and it even has a belt/guitar strap clip, so very portable. It is very easy to use when you're playing and comes with a range of effects you can dial into your chosen sound e.g. Drive, Effects amount, Delay, Reverb. At the touch of a button you can also change Bass, Mid and Treble. There is also a Channel volume control, Tap tempo and a built-in Tuner.Put through the clean channel of an amplifier it sounds pretty good too.I will be mainly using mine as a guitar effects unit within my home studio so it will be interesting to hear the results but so far I have to say I'm impressed.

Usable sounds in my guitar bag for practice and battery operated gigs
I own more than 15 tube amps, and was once a tube snob. But after years playing live and in recording studios, I now use the Line6 Helix as my primary rig. Modern digital kicks A**.The Pocket Pod does not sound as good as the helix, but it fits in my guitar bag and runs off batteries. I bring my guitar and a book sized iLoud speaker, and my friend (with a battery powered keyboard rig) and I can gig at the beach and attract an audience. Fun, but also sometimes that strategy filled a hall for our real band. I doubt I would record an album with the pocket pod, (although I could), but I own two of them and until Line6 ports the helix tones to a battery powered portable device, I will buy another one every time sand or rain or salt or random abuse kills them.Trust me and spend a while going through the patches, picking your favorite six and copying them into the first few patches. Do that and I would expect you to be pretty happy with this tool. I like my Helix better, but I would not be ashamed to play to a large live audience with my favorite six patches from this device.FYI, the best tiny little battery powered speaker that is flat enough to make my guitar sound OK is https://smile.amazon.com/IK-Multimedia-Portable-Personal-Speaker/dp/B00BIPL8Z2/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=iloud&qid=1598983197&sr=8-2 It is not super loud, (probably maxes out before rocking 25 people.... maybe good for gentle ambience to as many as 50) ....but within it's limits, it sounds nice.If I need more power, I use https://smile.amazon.com/4-Channel-50-Watt-Battery-Powered-Amplifier/dp/B00JMU1RAG/ref=psdc_11968291_t1_B000W22JG4 ...which is actually pretty amazing, but I like the sound of the pocket pod direct, better than it's built in amp stuff... (but maybe that is because I like to change between a bunch of different sounds.)
