Tajima JPR265A Dozuki Japanese Pull Saw, Black/Silver, 265mm

For many, many years I have used my trusted Shark Saw, it became my go to saw for pretty much everything. Sadly it appears they no longer exist and getting hold of replacement blades was getting to be a nightmare, not only sourcing them but the high prices put on old stock. So time had come for a whole new saw. First off the bat the handle is beautifully made and well constructed. It is made primarily of metal (and therefore has some weight) with a nice rubbery palm and finger grip pads. Very comfortable to hold. Changing the blade is very easy (instructions are printed on replacement blade packaging). Now to the main point, how it cuts. Well I am impressed as it made very short work of some old lengths of wood I had laying around to test with. The cut is quick and clean like you’d expect a pull saw to achieve. Obviously should be noted that the accompanying blade is really for general purpose sawing, should you require finer cuts then a different blade will need to be purchased (GNB 265ST for Fine, GNB 250 for Extra Fine or GNB 230 for Micro Fine). Hard plastic protective sheath for the blade after use, which is always nice to have. Fully recommend this pull saw.

Great tool. Razor sharp. Really comfortable pistol grip. Real clever plastic storage sheath that clicks in place. Blade that came with it is ok for end grain roughing but just ordered the extra fine version. Very pleased with my purchase.
