Be aware this a small pair, slightly less than 5 inches, lightweight and ideal for a variety of tasks like floral arrangements and crafts, I've tried 15+ different brands of diagonal cutters looking for ones that don't get edge chipping from cutting hard steel wires and these performed much better than others but still have micro chips on 'brittle' edges from cutting 20 small metal 'hot' staples used for plastic welding....most other brands have some to extreme chipping performing this task. I'm not sure what the metal alloy is in the staples but they are not magnetic (I cut them over a large bin like a trash can to keep them from spreading over the floor or ground esp. because you can't retrieve the small cut off bits with a magnet and may end up puncturing feet or being ingested by pets) ....After cutting 20 staples and holding the pliers up to the light you can see very tiny micro fractures on the edges which if used with more hard wires will eventually ruin them....but in spite of that issue these are still among the top 2 brands I've used so I rated them a 5 star....they should last much longer than most others I've tried for hard wires and if used for softer wires should last many years....the opening and closing pivot action is smooth and finish is nice, they are not bulky and work well for crafts and hobbies

Great cutter alignment and no pivot wobble. Most of my Gedore pliers (about 10) have been great, but once in a while I'll get a pair with pivot wobble, which I don't like, especially with cutters. This happens with other popular brands as well. These minis are tight and precise, excellent purchase.

Using these for reasonable precision jewelry wire cutting. They are a bit larger than I would like, but are super hard steel and will cut small diameter steel wire without immediately dulling.
