Product review
I’ve been using the LaserPecker for a little while now and overall, I’m really happy with it. One of the biggest pros for me is how simple it is to use — even if you’re new to engraving, it’s pretty straightforward. I also really appreciate the compact design. It folds up nicely, doesn’t take up much space, and looks great on the workspace. There are a couple of drawbacks worth mentioning, though. The app can be quite slow at times, which can be a bit frustrating. It’s clearly designed more for mobile and tablet use, and since I was hoping to use it with my laptop, that’s been a bit limiting. Also, the instructions could definitely be laid out better — it took a bit of trial and error to get started properly.Despite those issues, I genuinely love the product and I’ve really enjoyed using it. Once you get into the flow, it’s an awesome tool to have and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get into laser engraving.

So easy to use!
I recently purchased the Laserpecker Pro on March 16, 2023, and after spending some time using and testing it, I am thrilled with its capabilities. As someone who primarily uses it on wood, I am impressed with the quality of the engravings it produces.I found the app to be easy to use and was surprised to read some negative reviews about it. I have had no issues with the app, and it always performs exactly as I need it to. While I have experimented with some projects that didn't turn out as well as I hoped, it has been a learning experience. Fortunately, there are plenty of resources online where experienced users share their secrets and settings, making it easy to improve my skills. One thing I will note is that the tripod that comes with the Laserpecker Pro is extremely flimsy and difficult to use. It moves around frequently, causing issues with my workpiece. Sadly, I had to dispose of it and haven't used it since. Although I would have preferred the auto-adjustable stand, it was too expensive for me to purchase at this time. I have however made a jig that works for my purposes and when I reached out to Laserpecker they suggested a "gooseneck" style tripod which I am going to look into for version 2 of my jig.Overall, I would definitely recommend the Laserpecker Pro to anyone looking to start laser engraving. With just a mobile phone and some pictures, it is easy to use and produces excellent results.

A great entry level laser that's easy to use
Very cool little machine so far!I purchased to use mostly on wood and it seems to work great for that. I tried plastic and found it a bit lacking. PU leather has also been a struggle. My only complaint is (like many others have said) the little tripod it comes with is very flimsy, so I immediately replaced with a canterlever camera stand which works great. It can take a long time to engrave if your doing an image with lots of detail, expecially if you use the 2K resolution. Simple designs are fairly quick. For a basic, entry level laser engraver, overall it's a great little product and nice you only need a phone or tablet to run it, no need to a laptop and expensive software!Value for money was great as Amazon had a deal on.

Fabulous first Laser Engraver
Never having used a laser engraver before I did quite a bit of research before making the investment to purchase the LaserPecker L1 Pro:Pros:Very easy to use. Once the app is set up on your phone, it's pretty much intuitive.Uploading bespoke images to the app is a breeze and being able to customise items for my clients (and me!) has a huge impact. It's compact and has a very small footprint using the autofocus stand.Using the tripod is a bit fiddly, but it does enable the useable engraving area to be available for different positions massively. You can even position it to engrave vertical surfaces (I did the drawers on a wooden cabinet). You can use this with a normal power bank and the power drain equates to charging about 6 iPhones before the power bank is depleted - about 4 hours of continual use. (I usually just attach it to a USB-C plugged into my laptop/PC.)Cons:It's low power so can only engrave certain materials: soft materials are best, including wood, bamboo, leather and card.Light/white surfaces don't engrave - it reflects the beam too much.It won't engrave anodised aluminium - not enough power (so if you're after engraved metal business cards, this isn't for you.)It will engrave all sorts of plastic (e.g. PU 'leather' notebooks) but beware of the fumes - you need a well ventilated room! You need a finished bespoke image to upload; the LaserPecker Design Space software doesn't work with the L1.Overall, as a first laser engraver, whilst it is more expensive than some other equivalent makes, the flexibility of using a tripod together with the auto-focus stand gives you far more options to engrave items. In a few words: buy it if you want to start custom engraving on basic materials.
