Beautiful but Not as Photos Indicate
I did tons of research trying to find a chess board with Lapiz Lazuli, as it's one of my favorite semi-precious stones. I ordered this board and sent a couple inquiries to the seller to ask about the stone they use and from what region. The seller was quick in answering and even sent photos of the stone fragments that they use to inlay the lapiz , which was great. The board arrived and it is beautiful, however the photos indicate that the Australian marble is a white color. The board that arrived is not white marble, but a cream or tan color (comparable to a standard manilla folder). I wish that I had known as I purchased hand carved pieces based on the white marble and blue lapiz. I have considered sending it back, as I really wanted the stark white board, with blue inlay, as shown in the photos.
