hummingbirds love it, convenient to mix

Very good product at a great price point. Hummingbirds like their food not too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter (mild winter locations). I fill it in the evenings in the summer here in the S.W. so it is more palatable.

I ordered packages of this Perky Pet replacement hummingbird powder mix when I finally ran out of the large stash I’d had for a couple of years. I was concerned when I saw that the new package looked different and the color of the solution was a slightly different shade of red, but upon reading the ingredients, I discovered they were the same as the older mix. Then I was quite worried when the several hummers that had happily begun at my feeders in the spring seemed to almost disappear when I began using this newly-ordered mix, and I began to believe the reviewers who stated their hummingbirds no longer came to feeders since they began using it. I researched reputable scientific literature and found that “my” hummers - the birds I thought had nearly disappeared due to the fault of the new food - were likely sitting on and hatching their clutch of eggs. Sure enough, within a few weeks, the hummingbirds returned in droves, just as they had with my older Perky Pet solution. They’re currently zipping and zooming around my feeders for just a couple more weeks before their trip to the southern realms. Please note that one of my new packages arrived with the back seam partially separated, and some of the powder had spilled out. Luckily, the bags of mix had been shipped in another clear bag so I didn’t end up with a sticky mess throughout my Amazon box. I contacted Perky Pet to notify them of the weak glue or seal, and they assured me they’d share the information with their packaging department. Do be aware that you may end up with some powder spillage.

Hummingbirds love this product. I have been using it for years. It is easy to use and is reasonably priced. I will continue to purchase this product.

The bag stands up and has a zip type enclosure so it's easy to scoop and the bag is completely resealable - no mess on the counter. The ants hate it. The contents never clumped and it dissolves very quickly. I can state unequivocally that all the hummingbirds at our feeders approve - even the bully who tries to keep all the other hummingbirds away. Can't get a better testimonial than that.

Saves the mess of boiling water and sugar with food coloring. Hummingbirds flocked to get some.

I have not tried the taste but I can say that this is very simple to use, no boiling needed!

The contents of the bag appears to be enjoyed by hummingbirds after only one day after hanging the feeder. It is convenient to use the mix—just measure the right amount and add water. And the birds like it.

Unfortunately I cannot use the nectar because feeders drip all over the place and it's sticky and sugary so it's no good for the window at all. I cannot return as the window has closed unfortunately
