Not what was expected
If you like weird spicy little known soups then this is the book for you, if on the other hand you want a book that gives you good old fashioned soups and how to make them then find another book on soups because this is not it.

So useful
Lots of great recipes, I love this series of books. Well written and laid out and just makes you want to do them. Less is more as it is about following the recipe. From someone who gets fed up with books where someone is trying to be overly smart with the layout. It should be about the instructions and ingredients and a good realistic photo. This book does that. Bonus it is small and doesn't take up space. :)

Not helpful if you seek a book for good wholesome soups
Too many odd soups, using unusual ingredients. Not helpful if you seek a book for good wholesome soups. Michael G

It is not especially for Soup Makers
It has lovely recipes but if like me you newly have a soup maker it doesn’t really deal with that. If making in a pan, very goof

Souper!
I really like this series of recipe books as they are practical, easy to use, and well laid- out with a full-colour picture on the right, and the recipe with clear instructions on the left. This one is divided into quick soups (ideal for after work), summer and winter soups, special occasion soups, healthy recipes, and world soups. So this includes favourites like minestrone, beef and barley, chicken and noodle; but also more imaginative recipes such as gingered cauliflower, Thai tamarind broth, and saffron mussel soup. The index is cross-referenced so it's ideal for quickly finding ways of using up whatever's in the fridge - in a quick and healthy way. This also includes lots of easy accompaniments (anchovy toasts, fennel flat bread, breadsticks, croutons). This is one of those recipe books which rather than lying there looking pretty in the kitchen is constantly in practical use - if soup's your thing, this is brilliant.
