Q: Is this item supposed to have an audio jack? Got it as a gift and none in sight.

The Deluxe has an Audio jack and a volume knob. Though the knob does nothing to the volume of the jack output and you still get the sound from the instrument when you plug something in. I think it's meant to go on an amp or something

Q: What age group would this be for? What exactly is it?

This is not particular to any age group. As long as you love music, you'd be able to enjoy this. There are different sizes though, I would recommend to get the larger size for teenagers and up. It is a musical instrument which is similar to a guitar, that you get tones as you press its neck. I would also suggest you go to youtube to see how this is being played. This is a lot of fun.

Q: Are all the notes equally spaced or do they get closer together as you get higher, like on a string instrument?
