Q: Are they primed or gessoed?

Yes they are primed canvas boards. Great for beginners and trying out new ideas beachside cheaper than streatched canvas.

Q: are they good for watercolor?

They work ok. I do not recommend the past two times I purchased them the canvas smelled and had to throw them out.

Q: Can you use colored pencils to draw on these?

I used a colored pencil just to sketch out the picture I was going to paint. However, I don’t think using colored pencils as your medium would work well.
