A lovely Fleur de lis pattern appears all around the edge and an antique brass finish with a clear coat surface makes for an attractive charger.The product looks like brass, but is actually some form of magnetic metal that has been brass plated. While the label states these may be used as a server or charger, I believe that it would be a great mistake to try to use these chargers as a serving platter. The product is manufactured out of two or possibly three pieces per charger. This means they cannot be placed into a dishwater or standing water as water would then invade the inside of the charger and rust it away.Must be carefully hand-wiped only.They are 13" in diameter and are made in India. They appear to be of good quality and the label states the chargers are coated with an approved clear coat that meets California regulations.The only downside is each charger has a care and use 3"X5" label on each and every charger. They easily peal off leaving a gooey deposit on the bottom. The only way to clean off the goo is to use "Goo Gone" and leave the Goo Gone for twenty to thirty minutes before rubbing off the goo with a cotton pad or swab. This takes time and probably as much time as it took for an "artisan" to make the plate in the first place.

Very impressed with how well they were made. Bought the larger ones and am glad I did.
