２０１８年現在に至る１９８０年代に全米でヒットしたアルバム総合トップ１００を記した本。全米での累計売上枚数の詳細な数が記載されてます。 ただし、当時のビルボードアルバムチャート上での売り上げ枚数とは違って、３８年～２８年分が経年加算されているのでアルバムによっては極端な開きが出ている作品もあります。それとあくまでオリジナル作品のみのランキングで、ベスト盤は今回のランキングの対象からは外されてます。 それとアルバム収録曲は記載されてはいるけど、シングルカット曲などの詳細な情報が全く記載されておらずデータブックとしての史料価値は低いです。 その点を理解された上で購入を考えた方がいいでしょう。
