You get what you pay for
At that price, you cannot expect too much and I did not. The only reason I bought the knife is because I like those curved blades and they are not so easy to find. It is very sharp but which new knife is not? Bought it to replace a much more expensive Wustof one that was not of good quality, The blade inexplicably became dented in my places and started to rust quite soon although it never went in the dishwasher. So I suppose both those old reliable companies have gone into cheap stuff...At least this Victorinox one didn't cost a lot. I looks and feel cheap but it is doing the job for now at least.

Nice sharp knife
This little knife is so nice to use. It has a short blade but it is just right for so many paring tasks. It fits in your hand perfectly and has a good balance. We eat a lot of green beans which are usually frenched. I cut them by hand so the curved blade works well for that purpose. The sharp tip is great for digging the eyes out of potatoes or removing the stems of tomatoes. These knives are made with good quality stainless steel in Switzerland. This is my second one of these and I love it. I still have my first one but because I use it so much at least one is always in the dishwasher when I need it.

water chestnut!!
I make dishes with fresh water chestnut (Not prepeeled from a can)This knife is great for peeling and getting rid of the stub!I've also peeled apple and pear with it so far.Great addition to my kitchen

Good Value for Money
There are certainly more expensive paring knifes available; but for the money this is an excellent choice for day-to-day kitchen use. I would have given it five stars but it wasn't as sharp as I like any kitchen knife to be. A couple of minutes honing much improved the edge.

So handy
I had never heard of a beak paring knife till recently and so decided to try one. This one is beautifully sharp, and yes, the shape makes all the difference in doing kitchen tasks. Great for cutting up and coring apples, for example. Fits so nicely in the hand. I will be buying more for stocking stuffers this Christmas.
