Nothing Short of The Best
This is the best honey - absolutely worth the extra cost in our opinion -- especially considering it has be collected, strained, packaged and shipped from NZ. NZ has amazing plants and a healthy environment and this is captured in this product. We don't use processed sugar and this product is not too sweet. It tastes natural. A few family members use it in tea and love how it dissolves and enhances the flavor. It's great with oatmeal or in a smoothie! This product deserves its 5-star rating.Update: This is the 3rd time we've ordered this product from PRI. We trust the quality. It seems to have been shipped and stored well protected, and it arrived fresh with a long expiry date. Very much appreciate the price as well.

Wonderful unique flavor
The media could not be loaded. I love honey both as a sugar substitute with tea and for cooking. My previous experiences has been mostly with traditional American clover honey.Recently I had a chance to taste three different honeys from New Zealand and found the honey flavor is quite different in both taste and texture. All three have a strong and complex flavor that I really liked. The texture is thicker than the honey I am used to and darker in color. Each of the three New Zealand honeys I have tried had a unique taste. It is difficult to describe food flavors in words, but I will try...The Multiflora honey is the lightest of the three honeys in both color, texture, and taste. 100% of this honey is made from various flowers native to New Zealand using a cool process to preserve as much flavor as possible. It has the mildest flavor of three honeys I have tried yet still complex and interesting and quite different from clover honey.Manuka Honey Bio Active is the medium of the two in color flavor strength. It has a very interesting undertone, almost slightly bitter (in a nice way, like a dark chocolate has bit of bitterness). This honey is 100% Manuka honey. Manuka honey comes from the white flowers of the manuka bush, a native bush to New Zealand. To be labelled mānuka honey, at least 70% of the honey pollen content should come from the manuka bush. Manuka Honey Bio Active is 100% manuka honey. This honey has a very nice aroma, I think out of the three this is my favorite.Manuka Honey Blend is the darkest and has the strongest flavor. This honey is a blend: 55% Manuka Honey and 45% Multiflora Honey.I liked all three flavors and now that I have tasted them I know I would be buying more in the future.Manuka honeys have ratings 5+, 10+, 15+, 20+ which indicate the level of Peroxide Activity. All honeys can be eaten but the ones with rating of 10+ can also be used for treating wounds and burns. The manufactures descriptions indicates that the honeys with rating above 10+ should not be eaten in large quantities. Manuka Honey Bio Active has a rating of 20+.When I use honey in baking, I substitute half of the sugar with honey. Since honey contains liquid I recude the recipie liquids by 1/4 cup for each cup of honey, I also add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda for each cup of honey I use. I also reduce the oven temperature by 25 degrees Fahrenheit because honey browns more than sugar. To keep my honey tasting good for a long time I did some research on the best way to store honey. I found that recommendations are to store honey at room temperature. Refrigeration is not good for honey because it causes crystallization. If honey crystallizes warming the jar in warm water dissolves the crystals. To preserve the most of the flavor it is best not to microwave or boil honey if your goal is just to melt crystals. Warm water bath and stirring is the best way to get rid of crystals. Many thanks to Pacific Resources International for their request for a taste test and an honest review, be it positive or negative. I really liked the flavor of all three honeys and plan to continue buying it when these jars run out. I hope the attached video will give you a little better idea of the color and texture of this honey.Ali Julia review
