This is a pretty solid reel with smooth action.I bought a new telescoping pole, so I decided to pickup a new reel to go along with it and since I was offered a discount to give an honest review on this one, I took the chance. I must say I am happy I bought this reel. It runs smooth, no hang ups or issues. I like that the crack can be turned up by pressing the button under it to get it out of the way when storing it. As a pair with my telescoping rod this is a pretty smell and easy to carry around setup for hiking or when camping. The only real complaint I have is some of the casing had a few chips out of the paint from where the crank was hitting the body in shipping. To me this isn't a big deal, because this reel is going to get tossed in my bag for the next few years and I expect for it to have many wear spots. Overall I am very happy with this reel and would suggest it to anyone looking for a solid reel at a decent price.

I took a chance and bought this for an extra reel for drum fishing. But I very pleasantly surprised with the results. It appears to be solid aluminum construction and has outstanding action. The Sogayilang 5000 feels nearly as nice as my tried + true Stratic 6000.Granted the success pf any saltwater reel is how well it performs 1,5, and 10 years later, and usually you get what you pay for. But we will see how it hold ups.Pros:- Feels like good quality- Aluminum construction- Good action- Seems on par with many previous salt water reels I have owned.- Good valueCons:- Little to no documentation. I purchased this reel as a present for my boyfriend. I did my research and determined that this was the best bang for the buck based on specifications and reviews for surf fishing. As he is only able to surf fish a few times a year I think this will suffice for the time being. The reel appears to be well made for the price. While I can't attest to the functionality of the reel at this point I will update once he uses it on our upcoming beach trip in May.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.
