I bought the SmallRig Field Monitor Mount Holder Swivel and Tilt Adjustable with Cold Shoe Mount to mount my field monitor on my camera rig, and it has been a dependable addition to my setup. The build quality feels solid and well‑constructed. The metal parts are durable and tighten securely, so once you’ve positioned the monitor where you want it, it stays put without drifting or loosening over time. The swivel and tilt adjustments are smooth and offer a good range of motion, allowing me to fine‑tune the viewing angle whether I’m on a tripod, shoulder rig, or handheld setup. Installation was straightforward, and the cold shoe mount attachment works well with various cages and handle setups. Everything fits tightly without any wobble, which gives confidence when moving between shots or locations. Overall, this SmallRig monitor mount does exactly what it’s supposed to do: provide a strong, adjustable connection between the monitor and the rig. This monitor mount is solid and very well-built. It holds my field monitor securely in place without slipping, and the adjustment knobs are smooth but lock tightly once set. The compact size makes it easy to fit into my rig without adding bulk, and it feels very durable. I’ve used cheaper mounts before that wobbled or stripped easily—this one is definitely worth the upgrade. Perfect for filmmakers and photographers who want reliability in their setup.

Very useful mount. I purchased it because of the NATO clamp design as opposed to cold shoe. The clamp has held up well and the red clamp holds tight. I recommend it if you're looking for this particular type of mount.

Small, very solid and light. Once mounted it has no wiggling it feels very sturdy. I'm using mine with a SmallRig cage and Viltrox DC-550 monitor. The only issue and it's a minor one, the bouncy locating pin, for my monitor is on the wrong side. If you use the locating pin in the correct spot, the knob that locks down the swivel covers the HDMI port. You can't plug in the cable. the pin has to be located on the other side but it retracts. I tried to swap the sides for the knob but I don't think it's possible.

I was super excited to receive this mount as I attached it to my small rig cage housing my Sony a6600 to hold an iPhone in place so I could use it as a monitor or as a secondary recording device. While the Allen wrench screws that hold the device to your cage or other object worked just fine there is one small Allen wrench connection that is located underneath the hinge point of this device. Sadly on my trip for some reason it became loose and by the time I was ready to record with the secondary iPhone connected to this device on top of my camera it was so loose from left to right that I physically had to keep my hand on it the entire time. It would be nice if it used the same size Allen screw as the Allen screws which hold it to whatever you are mounting it to. That way you would just have one physical Allen key to keep track of for both the mounting point to your device and also the swivel from left to right. Other than that it’s a great high-quality product and I very much enjoyed it other than the one fail I experienced on my trip.

I love how this thing is built like a tank. It is very easy to set-up. The mount is easy to install and remove, the size is small, the fit is perfect. Once you set it up it is very stable. My only grip is the swivel action of this monitor holder as I need a hex screw to tighten it back up again after adjusting. Sometimes I can not bring tools with me and it is hassle. Other than that the product does it job pretty good.

I use an RS3 Mini with a Lumix G9 to shoot real estate videos. The problem I had was when I used a briefcase handle to shoot, the screen of the camera was often obscured. Also, depending on the angle and the reach to grab a shot, I was rarely able to clearly see what the camera was capturing. I figured I could use a field monitor, but instead of shelling out the cash, I downloaded the Lumix app onto an old phone and made my own wireless field monitor (it works well enough). Now for this monitor mount. It is a well built product with lots of adjustment options. I have multiple methods of attaching it to the Smallrig briefcase handle, and it will twist and turn to ensure my make-shift monitor is always easily visible. This item is a no-brainer for most folks looking to attach a proper field monitor. It's well built, simple to use, and can simplify your workflow.
