Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - Ravenclaw Edition

Come on, you really don't need a synopsis for this book, surely? Okay then. Orphan Harry Potter never knew his parents and has grown up with his awful uncle, aunt, and cousin. Harry finds out on his tenth birthday that he is actually a wizard, and will be attending Hogwarts, a school for the magically gifted. Add in constant peril, wizard chess, Quidditch, and Snape (who will forever be Alan Rickman) and it's one hell of a entertaining read.Although I've seen the films countless times, I've only read the books once. I decided to give them another read through now I have the Ravenclaw editions. I enjoyed the additional information and illustrations, and although it starts off slow, I soon became caught up in the fantasy world once again.

Fantastic anniversary special edition. I love that the book has been released in four versions for each of the four houses and that they are also in house colours. The extra information at the front with information about the founders of each house and other information. I love it! Bought all four versions!

A really beautifully presented edition. Makes a great gift for any Potter fan (provided you know what house they are in!) A bit heftier than my old paperback copy of The Philosopher's Stone, this edition also includes a few added extras and illustrations relating to the relevant house. Online the colour looked a bit garish, but in the flesh it's actually very nice.As for the story itself - a true classic, my generation's "Lord of the Rings". If you haven't read it, get it now - you can easily read this book in a day (probably in one sitting). I've lost count of how many times I have read this book and am always ready to delve back to Hogwarts.If you're a first time reader the House edition probably won't make much sense - why not get it from your local library, find out where you belong and then get the relevant edition later on?

I purchased this edition for my Harry Potter mad, ravenclaw wife and she was over the moon to receive it.She said it comes with little extras that the original books didn't and was ecstatic at the fact she aced the mini quiz at the end.The rest of the titles are now saved ready to be purchased asap!

Mine arrived with a few little scuffs and a little battered from the journey but most books do tbf. I didn't even realise it had some added extra bits about your house, the founder etc so I'm excited to read those. A really beautiful book and it looks nice even without the paper cover just plain black with blue metallic writing on the side.
