Brilliant, simple, clever design
I hesitated for ages to buy this item because it felt like such a lot to spend on a clothes airer but frustration at never having a good place to stow the old tiered airer and it's inaccessible parts pushed me to take action. There is not anything I don't like about this simple but clever and elegant piece of design. As has been mentioned before the foot print is very small making it an quite unobtrusive when in use. There is no reaching into awkward places to make the most of the drying space. Hanging out laundry has always felt like such a horrible job but using this takes some of the pain out of it!Previous reviews have mentioned problems with the clip that keeps the legs stowed but so far this is not something I have experienced. Perhaps the design has been improved? Either way, everything on my airer seems to be robust and well made. When folded away it is quite a large object but it stows away a lot more tidily than most standard free standing airers and would not look out of place if it had to live in a corner of your living room. Mine fits easily in the bottom of my wardrobe without taking up much room. For me definitely money well spent.

Lovely and very practical
This is an eye-wateringly expensive clothes airer, but compared to most other products of this type on the market, the benefits justify the high price. The folded footprint is very small and will sit easily tucked away in a cupboard or in a corner. When folded it is about 2/3rds the height of a golf umbrella and the diameter is around 20cm. It will stand comfortably when folded and takes up almost no space. When unfolded it is amazing how much laundry one can hang on this thing. The way in which you hang your clothes has to be slightly different to using a conventional airer. I find I can hang trousers best by threading them onto an arm by the rear belt loops. Shirts are best hung by a hanger from one of the arms, four of which have notches to stop a hanger slipping off, but the other arms work perfectly well for this too. It even allows you to dry woollens flat, by laying a sweater for example, across several arms at once. Stability is excellent even with some imbalance with too much hung from one side. The parts are all replaceable and the manufacturer sells every part of this airer if and when they get broken, but quality is high and I doubt there is much to break. My one criticism is the locking mechanism for the feet when they slide into the base. To release them you stand on a plastic tab that simply clips around the plastic edge of the main body canister and then lift up at the same time with the round wooden top knob. This works well enough albeit in such a way that I fear I will snap off the foot if not very careful. The problem is when pushing the feet back inside. This clip won't engage if you are pushing down onto anything softer than hard flooring. The first one I ordered was faulty and couldn't be locked at all. The second works fine but can't be operated on anything but hard floor. You can't even clip it on by hand and have to quite roughly push down to get the clip to engage. I take mine from the carpeted room in which I dry clothes, to the stone tile of my bathroom in order to clip the legs into the base. If you don't secure the legs then every time you lift the airer the legs slide out of the bottom and clatter against your legs.I feel I should also say that I would be a little concerned that for the elderly the tripod legs pose something of a trip hazard. They're slender and made of beautiful pale wood but not particularly easy to see in low light when moving around dealing with laundry. Any tripod is easily overlooked as one senses the body of the object in one's peripheral vision as being further away, yet the feet extend some distance outwards and always in a slightly different place after being put away and taken back out again. Of course it's easy to trip on any clothes airer but I find myself catching my toe on this occasionally when I'm tired and not paying sufficient attention. Best to find a spot for it around which one won't be walking. So overall this is a lovely, attractive, well-designed airer. It holds an amazing amount of laundry for something that folds up so small, and when unfolded the fact that you can rotate the whole thing around while hanging clothes, is a wonderful feature. My one concern is this foot clip, but as the replacement I received is working fine I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I love the style of this thing, the quality wooden arms and legs, and the fact that in my tiny house I don't have hideous metal airers taking up space behind doors. I may find myself buying a second. I hope this has been helpful.

Stylish & space saving
The designer reinvented the wheel with this (Foppapedretti Octobus Clothes Airer Fan) & it's great I love it. I particularly like the fact it doesn't have a large footprint so if you're starved of floor space it's really handy, and you can pull out as many of the wooden arms as you need so it can work against the wall too - some of the arms have little grooves to accommodate hangers, which is also handy. It's got a great weight and is sturdy and well made. When I first opened and closed it the legs dropped out until I realised (read the instructions...) when you close it after use you have to give it a hard tap on the floor until you hear the 'clack' sound which indicates it's locked closed. I only mention that as I read another review and there was a comment about the legs dropping out. Bit pricey but a great design and it looks built to last....Glad I made the purchase.

Great innovative item, just a bit pricey
Really like this, very sturdy and easy to put away doesn’t take up much space. Just thought it was expensive. Well made, I had the wooden arms, which looks very nice. Good bit of kit.

This is my second one and still going strong!
It's space saving when not in use. I find it's design superior and the clothes dry quicker. The only thing is washed bedding is too heavy ~ especially when you have a big bed! I still rate it highly. Jeni

I debated buying this for weeks
I honestly debated buying this for weeks. I hated my old traditional one, always in the way. To the point that I never used it. This is a lot of money and I really didn’t want to spent that much on one. But I knew instantly it was perfect when I got it. Folds away into the corner when not in use. But also the clothes dry quicker because they’re not all on top of each other. Been using it a week now, barely using the tumble dryer. Love it!!

Cool, space-saving, design!
Had an opportunity to use one of these while traveling recently. When I first saw it, I thought "what is this thing?". Its design fosters curiosity. You want to know what this thing is! After I figured out how to set it up, I realized that it is the coolest drying rack ever! I highly recommend this well-made, space-saving clothes drying rack especially if you do not have much space in your laundry area. Outstanding!

Plastikbomber mit schlechter Haptik
The media could not be loaded.

Chiuso oppure zero spazio. Lo adoro
