I have this question too, and everyone seems to think they have the answer, but so far all I've seen is a lack of understanding of the different types of axles out there. Just so everyone is aware, NOT ALL bikes can use a QR (quick release) skewer. Many modern bikes can only use a threaded thru-axle. With past trainers, I've had good success using axles from the Robert Axle project and the Traxle from Kinetic. Many new bikes use hubs that are wider than they used to be. So Alpcour...can you please directly answer this question? : Can you use a bike with a 12x142 rear thru-axle with this stand? I understand that I will have to replace the axle on my bike. But the key question is if the dimensions are large enough to fit a bike with that axle width. Most trainers like this are NOT wide enough. Can you please clarify?

instructions say if your bike has a bolt you dont have to remove the skewer. what does tjat mean? how do i tell if it has a bolt?

Hi, If the Bikes Rear Wheel has a Removable Bolt which Holds the Wheels in Place than the Trainer will work Perfectly. But if the Bold is not easy to remove you will need to replace it with the Included Quick-Release Skewer.

So my 700c genius’s saber with no quick release can be used for this device?
