ProQ Ranger Charcoal BBQ Smoker - version 4.0 (2019)

Well put together but a rack of ribs must be the most basic of smoker ingredients and it does not fit on the grill. Suggest shoppers avoid this one and go for the next size up. Design and quality of construction is excellent for the price.

This is a great smoker/BBQ a great design, sturdy and well made and not flimsy as with cheaper options.Have had this for a month now and have cooked smoked brisket, beef chuck, beer can chicken and spatchcock chicken all with great results.I love the design with the large water bowl which keeps the meat moist and temperature low for smoking. When a higher temperature is required have the bowl empty (tin foil lined) which keeps an indirect heat but higher temperature.I have noticed that sometimes need to keep the lower door open to keep the temperature up high but this could be due to the fact that I was using restaurant grade charcoal rather than briquettes.So far loving this machine and smoking most weekends subject to weather.

Good bit of kit but for around the £200 - £300 mark it’s not going to be the best of the best , so much better than my last smoker, not so sure on the accuracy of the temp gauge so a meat probe is a definite purchase as well, if this fell to bits or got flattened, I would buy another one without hesitation.

Got it for my partner for Christmas. He's a chef and loves it. Says its a great piece of kit.

My first smoker, great starter in the smoking game. It's not a green egg, you'll need to figure this one out, how to get the right airflow and it's tricks. It's a great way to learn the art of smoking. I've done everything from 14hr pulled pork to 30min chocolate brownie on here. It's a great all rounder and can handle 4 chickens.

For those who really enjoy making and eating BBQ, this is a fantastic bit of kit
