Before you start make sure how it mounts, Nuts!!
Shipped fast! Ours was mounted with sml. Bolts this one with studs so no nuts / lock washers! Note on motor said I had to go to QR code b4 connecting, I don’t do QR codes so got help with that!! Mounted connected motor turned power on went in reverse so switched fan wires and it’s good !!! Now we wait to see how long it lasts??

Motor is Clockwise!
Nowhere in the description does it specify the direction of rotation. I found out the hard way it is Clockwise (as seen from the "top", aka Lead End, aka where the wires come out, aka not the end where the shaft is). For searching purposes, here are a few other ways of specifying that: Clockwise Lead End, CWLE, Counter Clockwise Shaft End, CCWSE. Basically, if you have it installed in the standard hanging down position, the fan will spin clockwise inside your condenser as you're looking down on it.Also, this motor does *not* like to run in reverse. It'll pull the specified 1.3A when it's spinning the way it's supposed to, but if you switch the leads it jumps up to 5A. So no, you cannot just run it in reverse after you install it and discover the fan is spinning the wrong direction from what you need.Motor itself seemed decent. Wires were long enough to reach where they needed to go with a little bit of extra slack actually. This motor has a nice "splash guard" installed on the shaft which I suppose would theoretically help with water not getting slung up into the middle of the motor by the fan. Motor is a good height as well, and the bolts were just long enough for install.

OEM. wires are shorter than original,- just long enough. no slack
This is the modern version of the original GE fan 5kcp39 s283bs all the specs are the same, with a 0.2 greater amp draw.I bought the part slightly used from North America HVAC, and for the nice price I decided to use this instead of upping to 1/4hp. This is a fairly easy DIY job. I took the opportunity to clean out the inside of the condenser unit, as well as spray the inside coils with coil cleaner. The old fan blade was fine, as was the old collar. The wires on this product are shorter than the original wires, but in this case were exactly long enough. I had to spin the capacitor to make yellow and brown wires more comfortably clipped on; with these wires there's less need to tie off extra wire, so in this case it's just fine. I've saved the old wires just in case.I literally just put it in, so I can't speak to the longevity of motor. I can say it's moving air at least as well as the old one. I hope to experience better cooling and lower utility cost. I'll update if there's an issue. This 5-star review is 85% for the seller North American HVAC. They offer good price, good products, and shipped immediately. I also used their video on YT to guide me on the job.

What can be said about this
When this motor arrived one of the leads was cleanly cut with no damage or marks on the other leads. My A/C is out and it's miserably hot so I have to try and make this work now. Bummer!!!

Life saver
My AC went out and my great home warranty said the can get out here pronto in 15 days. It has been over 100 degrees every day for months. Found this part to match my 20 year old Carrier 3Ton. Once the part arrived I had my system up and running in 5 minutes. I was the fan which I suspected because the old fan blades did not spin freely and I replaced the capacitor last summer. I don't care if it doesn't last long. For 120 dollars I will just buy another one. Beats 10K for a replacement. Pro tip.... if you are squeezing the life out of your old AC get yourself a portable AC for about 400 dollars. It has been 105 degrees for the 3 days I waited for the part. We were able to cool the master bedroom and slept just fine. If you are going to be running an old AC it could fail at any time. If you don't have two units get yourself a portable backup.

Slight differences can be expected
I hard to buy different mounting hardware than my previous unit. But, this was a small problem. The fan motor is great!

So far, so good
Perfect replacement for my condenser fan motor that had stopped running. Easy replacement. The wires were long enough. Runs quietly. Hopefully it will last as long as the original
