Legendary whitetails chore coat
Bought this for my man and itβs perfect! Excellent quality and durability. Fits him perfectly! Heβs 6β around 190-200 lbs and got a large. The lining is so pretty and has so many pockets for things. Very thick, warm, and functional. Can be dressed up or down.

Heavy and Stylish
I'm a relatively big guy (3X) and the jacket fits perfectly. It looks great and I don't use it for work, I have 2 Carhartts for that and I only use those when it's really cold, because they can get uncomfortably warm. But I really like the style. I don't know how it'll hold up, because I don't wear it enough, but it's really nice and heavy, plenty of room. I wore it when it was cold this past week to run errands, instead of my usual (a columbia I've had for about 10 years), it did fine, but I was only out for a half hour. Nice jacket, I'd purchase another, but for what I'm using it for it should last for years to come.

Good Hybrid Work/Fashion Coat
I have been looking for a coat that meets several requirements and this is the closest I've found.1 - Range of motion: This has fairly shallow arm gussets and doesn't have quite the range of motion as a Duluth Trading or Carhartt but it's good enough.2 - Style: I kinda go for the Huckberry look, slightly retro and outdoorsy, a little butch, a little urbane. This fits the bill pretty well. It's not as stiff and shapeless as a real working man's jacket so it works for more casual use. I also really do not like branding. I don't want to wear a logo so I don't like Carhartt. A lot of Whitetail jackets have a big "legendary" patch on the arm which is a no for me. This one has a subtle leather patch on the side pocket. I'm okay with that.3 - Fit: This is a tough one. I'm 6'1β and 230 lbs. My dress shirt size is 17/34 so I'm never sure whether to get a large or extra large. I got the XL in this and it's a little too big but not ridiculous. Arms are a little too long, shoulders a touch wide but overall about as good as I usually find. If not for my pot belly I would probably take a large.4 - Pockets: I'm pretty specific here. I want good hand-warming pockets not the horizontal ones you see on most chore coats. This coat has those and snap-closure pockets on top of the hand warmers. Clever. I also want at least one secure breast pocket inside and outside. This has two of each. Winner winner chicken dinner.5 - Durability: I am not a hardcore buy it once type but I do want stuff that lasts. I just got this so it's an open question. It's all triple stitched with rivets at stress points and the cotton poly shell is a tight weave. Some reviews show failing snaps which is often the weak link for clothing as it's easy to mess up. All mine look secure.6 - Stand/flip down collar: I'm negotiable on this point but I strongly prefer a stand collar that can keep my neck warm but flip down nicely for casual wear without looking all janky. It's hard to find and this one is absolutely perfect.7 - "Just Right" Warmth: I live in New Jersey. It rarely gets super cold so I don't want something I'm going to cook in. At the same time I need a little insulation. This one is just right - good for 30s and 40s and it will probably work for colder temps if you layer properly.8 - Easy On/Off: Taffeta-lined sleeves and easy zippers are a must for me and this one has both. Also, the snaps are big sand easy to use with gloves.9 - Value: There are a lot of $50-$70 coats out there that are just too poorly made to bother with. At the same time you can spend $250 or more and end up with something that's not much better, especially if it's got some designer's name on it. At $130 this is a solid value. It's not artisanal hand waxed Japanese canvas, but it's not cheap, crinkly fabric either. It won't fall apart in a season but it's also not the end of the world if I leave it on a train or something.10 - Versatility: I'm not a longshoreman or an urban fashionista, I'm a suburban dad with a desk job and a lot of chores. I want to be able to throw on a coat and go to the store, then come home and change my car battery or fix a screen door. This is the coat for all that. Conclusion: I have looked at a LOT of jackets, new and vintage, and this is the only one I have found that meets all the above requirements. It's not 100% - I wish it was a little more tailored and would prefer a more natural-looking fabric to this smooth microsuede but overall it's something I expect to wear a lot and for a long time.

Great Coat!
This was a gift for my 16 yr old son. He absolutely loves it. It's stylish enough to wear out, but durable enough to wear out in the barn as well. It's comfortable and super warm.

Great looking jacket ( update )
The jacket is great looking and true to size. I was concerned about quality from reading other reviews and that may end up being an issue. The zipper sticks in places, requiring extra effort to zip up & down. I'm hopeful this will improve as it is worn and broken in. All stitching looks good and the snaps work as they should. I rate it at 4 stars due to the sticky zipper.**** UPDATE ****I returned the first jacket for exchange. Amazon return process was fast & easy. The replacement jacket also has a somewhat sticky zipper, so I know this is a manufacturing flaw, but not as bad as the first jacket. Also, some of the navy color dye transfers to my hands when damp. I am going to keep the jacket because it is a beautiful jacket, but I don't think the quality is up to par for the price I paid. I reduced my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars due to my lack of confidence in the product.
