Love these plates
I use these for microwaving. I got rid of plastic storage years ago and have always avoided using any kind of plastic for microwaving - I even unload frozen items from their store packaging and put them in glass before putting them in the microwave. I don’t want to use stoneware either as water vapor eventually works into the microscopic cracks that develop in the glaze over time and end up rupturing my good dishes. About 4 years ago, I bought a set of 8 square dishes from IKEA that could go in the oven and microwave. I love them - they’re 6 inches along each side, about 2 inches deep, and the perfect size for single servings to reheat in the microwave. For a while, I had a set of square, almost flat Libby plates that fit right over the top like a lid to hold in heat, but they gradually started breaking from being placed directly on the counter after microwaving (I also suspect my husband and his use of the plates to eat on because he cuts meat like he’s trying to cut through the plate as well). I found these to use as lids instead and I absolutely love them. They are not flat - they’re kind of a cross between a flat bowl and a plate. The raised sides make them perfect as a lid because they hold to the square dishes without gapping. They’re super durable and also great for use as a plate to eat off. When I want a plate instead of a bowl, I just use one of these with another on top as the lid and heat away. They’re the perfect size for small meals and snacks as well as for covers. I’m totally sold on these and just bought 2 more sets of 3 to ensure that I have plenty in case of the inevitable breakage that is just a side effect of living in a house with a perpetually distracted husband. I can see a world of uses for these plates and love the unusual shape. I heartily recommend them.

Well-made, classy, and value for money
I purchased these because I needed one glass tray to hold two soap bars in the bathroom. This is because the containers in my bathroom are all glass. It makes things look classy. Two standard sized soap bars fit well in it. It is also fairly hefty that the soap, if stuck, can be lifted up, without the plate lifting up with it.The other two plates, naturally, will be put to culinary use. They are good value for money.Attached herewith is a picture of this set.

Read description carefully
There were only 3. Usually when I have purchased plates they come in a set of 4 or more.

Dearly Loved until the explosion
I purchased these plates in Oct. 2022. They have never been microwaved. They have been in dishwasher and occasionally in a bamboo steamer. They have never been abused, which doesn't explain why at 10 o'clock at night, after resting on the counter for several hours, one exploded. It was a horrible sound. I thought a crate of glass had been dropped and broken outside my house. Luckily I was wearing shoes, so while my eyes were astounded at the unbelievable glass detonation, there was no toe blood. The shards were relatively large, and I am guessing this limited the projectile strength to about 5 feet. I wish I knew why this happened. Was it a food allergy? Oh Dear, I have 2 plates left. :( I loved these plates.

Makes great plant saucers!
I had a squarish squat clear glass vase that I ended up using for an aloe plant. I wanted to put a saucer under it, but a round saucer didn't look right. One of these plates was perfect! I think they would also be nice under votive candles as well.

Shattered plate
Plate just suddenly shattered with my partners Chinese on; no warning just the sound of glass breaking.
