Troop London TRP0240 Classic Canvas Laptop Messenger Bag - 16.5 Diagonally

I'm a teacher and wanted a bag but not a bag that looks like a laptop bag. This bag is pretty big and can hold a lot and is pretty sturdy. A lot of people have complimented it too in just the first week of using it.

I have had a Troop bag before and it lasted me years of everyday use. They are made of top quality materials and the workmanship is first rate.This bag was exactly what I was looking for, it has a good capacity without being too big and has a padded laptop section which easily takes my 13" laptop.

Had this for a couple of weeks now and this bag has been nothing but an unqualified success. Easily carries my 15.6" Laptop, 13" Ultrabook and 11" Surface Pro at the same time with zero problems. Comfortable, yet practical, this bag is both simplistically great looking yet fantastically efficient at the same time. Every time I turn around I find a new pocket somewhere!

Great size bag with plenty of room, I've used it for both business and leisure and the bag had plenty of room for both. Loads of different compartments and the protective layer for a laptop is a nice touch

Firstly let me say I am a fan of troop products. They are well made and look good, they are also well priced.The bad bit... I have just bought the "Big Laptop Bag" and "big" it isn't. I have a mac pro 15" and it fits into the protective pouch "just" it really is too tight to be practical. But then, the pouch with the laptop in it does not go back into the bag unless you spend ten minutes of wrestling with it.To sum up......for me 'disappointing'......Looks good, great quality bag but unfortunately needs renaming as the "Small Laptop Bag"as these days a 15" laptop is certainly not the biggest of them.If you use a smaller laptop or notebook it is the bag for you..it is first class. If like me you have a 15" leave it on the shelf.I hope people find this useful and I hope Troop read their customer reviews.

I bought this bag for work - needing to transport a laptop, iPad and a modest pile of papers/files and it does the job brilliantly. The bag is made of a durable canvas material in a pleasant, muted green/beige colour with brown leather and brass features (reinforcement and zip toggles).With the bag closed, there is still access to two zipped compartments - one on the 'body' side of the bag and one in the flap on the outside. These are handy for smaller, relatively thin items - tickets, paperwork that you need quick access to. The zip is not quite wide enough for A4 so you will struggle to get a magazine in here though. You also can't put anything bulky in the flap compartment as it will interfere with the bag closing.The strap is adjustable and made of a strong, woven webbing with a solid brass adjuster buckle with a good range of lengths. I am fairly tall and it sits comfortably in the middle of the range so I would imagine it could be adjusted to fit almost anyone. There is a comfortable padded section which has a slightly 'grippy' finish. I find it comfortable on the shoulder.The internal compartments consist of two main sections. There is a front section with another zipped compartment on the outside of the bag and a section with some pen loops, card holders and a larger pocket - which, in my case, fits a small umbrella. You can get quite a few items in here but the compartment does not open very wide. If you are going to put larger cables, memory cards and other items in here they will not be that easy to extract so I would suggest budgeting for a small pouch to carry those.The main compartment is protected by a zip and is lined with waterproof material (not tested!). There is a section for a laptop - I measure this as 34cm x 25cm. It has a small velcro loop to keep it secure. There is a smaller, zipped waterproof internal section which is ideal for an iPad. Between these two sections is a section for general items, paper etc. In the 'normal' configuration, you could get a couple of A4 pads in here quite easily along with laptop and iPad. However, this bag has a neat trick up its sleeve. there is a full length zip around the outside of the bag which allows the middle section to open out like a set of bellows. With this open, you can get a lot of gear in here - including a decent amount of clothing. You have to be careful how you pack it as the 'inlet' doesn't expand but with the zip one you can get in enough extra bits for a weekend trip.All the materials are of quality material with good tight stitching and quality zips and hardware.
