This was great for my college class and helped me through the semester

Anything with Diana Hacker's name is high quality.
While the delivery packaging was poor and the spiral bound manual arrived bent and twisted, this is a quick to use grammar and style guide that college students find very helpful. It is one required text that they openly said they planned to keep for future classes just after a few weeks of use. In addition to the readable and reliable grammar/writing/research information, the best feature is that it covers the differences among APA, MLA, CMS, and CSE, the most common styles used in the majority of disciplines today.

Very helpful.
I have twins who are finishng their junior year of high school, but are dual enrolled at a community college. This last semester they were enrolled in a composition class. They, both, said this book really helped them with their writing. They plan to keep this book handy through their college years. So far, out of the four college books we've purchased for each of them, this is the only book they want to keep. Good investment for anyone who wants to write better whether for school or business.

Good.
This pocket style manual is good. Like how it organized and make it easier to look/find what you are looking for. The spiral is good, and the price is okay. Happy with the purchased.

It's actually pretty helpful and user friendly
I was required to purchase this book for a class I'm taking and resentfully, I made the purchase. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at the content and the layout once I opened it! It's categorized according to what specifically you're trying to accomplish (in text citation, works cited, etc.) and gives examples to every possibility imaginable. It also covers up to date MLA and APA procedures and set ups. I usually return books at the end of the semester to get money back but I think I'll keep this one for future references!

Helpful when in a pinch
I wish I had kept this book during my undergrad. Little did I know 7 years later I would be back in school to earn an MBA. Essentially everything you need to properly cite and put together a paper and follow APA guidelines. A huge help without having to spend the money for the full guide. Quick and easy reference guide for those who just need a quick reminder. The pages are pretty thin and one actually arrived torn, but it serves the purpose I need it to.

REPRINTED CHAPTERS and MISSING CHAPTERS!!!! BE CAREFUL!
Well, at first, I thought it was great book with useful information... However, I noticed that some of the chapters were reprinted and other chapters were missing. It was really difficult to catch up with the class because there were a few missing chapters in the book that I purchased. Really Disappointed.

A Must-Have for Students!
My English professor recommended the 6th edition of "A Pocket Style Manual" so I decided to buy it and I'm so glad I did! I'm an English major and I plan on going all the way with my education (my goal is a PhD in English and to have a career as an English teacher) and this manual will be an immense help and will be with me all the way. It has almost everything you'll need for writing papers (I say "almost" because a section on Outlines, Note Cards, and Working Bibliography Cards would fit in to this manual very well; but even without the aforementioned sections it's still a wonderful manual). I highly recommend this manual, especially if you're an English major.

a) I wasn't keen on the spiral binding, it felt flimsy b) some ok tipps but for actual referencing I as an undergraduate I realised I had sources that were more complicated than those explained which meant me having to synthesise diffent elements of different sources - not fun! therefore not bad but if you and your professors are meticulous, it's not enough, otherwise reasonable introduction.

Way more user friendly and easy to use than the APA manual. This book is very visually intuitive and it's organized well. It simplified all my referencing. Usually formatting and referencing is my least favorite part of a paper, but with this guide it was much easier than expected and by the look of the other essays I saw handed in - I outdid my peers (when it came to following proper formatting at least!) I also appreciated the tips on assembling using a 'working bibliography'. Overall it was very handy. I actually did not have to refer to my APA manual at all for my essay - this guide was enough. I wish I had this a few years ago. Do yourself a favor and buy this book.

I would recommend this book to ANYONE who is taking English. It is extremely helpful and so easy to use. There is a website also to accompany this manual so you can practice your grammar skills. :)
