I ordered this last minute! I was bound a determined to make my own roux & I did - it was horrible!This was my Plan B!I had already put the sausage, tomatoes, okra, thyme. onions, peppers & celery into my Plan A -disgusting roux - so I threw that into a colander and rinsed it in the sink! & Reused it for Plan B! (somewhat freaking out)I made this adding chicken broth, my chicken, & shrimp -plus extra onions, celery, & peppers - & 2 cans of Rotel.It was at first a nightmare turning into a dream come True! I will never make another roux again!This was Amazing!! Even my husband loved it! He is still talking about it - next day!!Don't waste your time trying to make your own...... this is the Real Deal! A Game changer!!

If you've ever made gumbo from scratch it takes time and can be hit or miss if you get distracted and the roux gets too hot during the 30 minutes you are stirring.This product is quick, easy and very tasty. I added deboned dove I shot the week before including the hearts and gizzards. Added shrimp, chicken, sausage, okra and onions. Friends told me it was the best gumbo they ever tasted. (Granted it was good but they need to spend more time in New Orleans.). But for a quick, easy meal with enough to share it's perfect.

Tasty and convenient but I can’t get past the excessive salt. Would love the product if they offered a low salt version. Salt is easy to add to taste.

Produces a satisfying stock without setting your hair on fire. Numb-tongues are at liberty to add any (or all) of the souped-up hot sauces they wish without the rest of us having to stomach their braggadocio.

I love gumbo but I never get the roux right! This takes out the stress of making sure I don’t mess it up. With gumbo if you do not get the base done properly, it can easily ruin the dish. I make gumbo only for special occasions, which means it is pretty rare that I make it. I usually do it for birthdays or a holiday. This means it is extremely important that I get it right and this makes everything so much easier.

Salty...no trinity visible.not very good definitely not quality gumbo...
