SHIMANOVanford F Spinning Reel

This reel was suggested by a friend that knows fishing much better than I do. It's more than I have ever spent on a reel but I think its a good investment in a unit that will be long lasting. It was easy to assemble onto my new rod and fill with line. I found it super smooth to both cast and reel. It is very lightweight yet still extremely well made and appears durable. Highly recommended!

I own several Stratic C14’s and the Vanford 2500 is a nice addition! Smooth as silk and well made! I filled the spool a little less than halfway with 12lb mono and the rest with 15lb Berkley X9 and a 10lb fluorocarbon leader. Casts really well and a pleasure to use. Currently paired with a St. Croix 6’8” MH Mojo Bass Rod. Very pleased with this purchase!

If you're looking for quality, you came to the right place. This reel is light weight and will cast and reel very smooth.

I had a Shimano Stradic 2500 on a Dobyns Xtasy 722, my buddy was saying that the stradic is nice but a little too big on the 722. So he recommend me the Vandord 2000. Love the Vanford way more than the stradic due to the smaller profile, and it holds more line than my Stradic 2500.

I like that it's adjustable for when you need to retrieve slowly or fast for the type of fishing your doing. it's also able to be used by right or left handed people. even the 3000 series is lighter than most other products. it also has a nice drag system and the bail is reinforced so it won't loosen over time. It's very versatile for all kinds of fishing and lightweight. It's also very durable it's been banged around and hasn't broke the bail yet.

Light and smooth

This is supposed to be a very good midrange/upper range reel. It's winter here in Maine so I've only just spooled it up. Initial observations though is that it's as well made and smooth reeling as I've been told. Looking forward to using it.

I got the 1000 for trout fishing. It is absolutely the smoothest and most precise reel I have ever used. Coupled with a good rod (personally I like St. Croix) provides a special experience hooking, playing, and landing fish.
