Duct Fresh Gel - HVAC Air Freshener, Cleaner, Deodorizer Non Toxic for Odor Block, Small

We reside in central Florida. It's hot! Our air handler is in the attic. After replacing our old system with a new 2-stage 5-ton central air conditioning system last July, the air handler experienced a sweating issue. We guessed that mold occured in our plenums or ducts. This winter we experienced musty or moldy or an ozone like odor coming from our central AC, especially one zone in particular. We truly believe it was affecting our health.We installed a RGF REME HALO Whole Home In-Duct Air Purifier. I'm sure it's a good thing but It did not help. We had our air quality tested, all normal results. The HVAC professionals cleaned the original coil on two occasions and conducted a fogging service. The smell remained. 7 or 8 months after installation the coil was replaced. The sweating problem was solved, but the odor continued.We purchased "Duct Fresh Gel - HVAC Air Freshener, Cleaner, Deodorizer Non Toxic for Odor Block, Small" from Amazon. We placed an open container in one of the return ducts close to the air handler. Amazing. Really. For all intent and purposes, the problem is solved. While there is a rare occasional ever so slight whiff of the odor, but for 99.99% of the time, the odor is gone. We are beyond pleased.

Ineffective. It didn't stop odors. No scent at all. The gel was hard as a rock. It looks like it was open because the product was dry.

First, I want to say "Thank You" to the company that invented this product! I have been searching for something that would get rid of the smell that was coming from the air duct every time the A/C turned on. It smelled like cigarette smoke. Mind you, we don't smoke. So here I am in my frustration buying wall plug-in, sprays, anything to get rid of the smell until I came across this product. WOW! So happy I did. It took at the most three days for the smell to go away. I am so thankful for a company to actually create something that works! Something non-toxic and safe! I wish I would have seen this before! I will buy again!!!

The manufacturer claims it lasts up to 90 days. Not true. The product was delivered on November 23, 2024 to my home and only lasted 17 days. There was not even time to return it. As the gel just disappeared in a short time. I'm hoping I just got one from a bad batch. I'm going to order one more and see what happens. I will say the scent is pleasant. I will do a follow up review and let you know what happens.

Took odor from dead mouse in duct work

This stuff WORKS! FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!!! Worked wonders in the neglected mildewy smelling hvac system in our new home in Florida! Start with new filters. Use the spray from the same maker GENEROUSLY FIRST in the intake with the fan running to distribute into ducts, then use these on top of the filter in the intake. follow the directions and empty the gel block in a larger plastic container so all sides are exposed or it will not work right! A bit pricey but nothing else worked, duct cleaning is a bait and switch racket especially here in Florida! Try this!!!

Not worth it. It does work well... for a couple of days. Then, it dries out and is useless. Definitely not worth the price.
