An enormous amount of information must be well understood to pass the exam. This plus the study guide worked for me.
I recommend this book! I bought this and the companion practice exams book. The 300 pages appears to be a condensed study guide derived from what would be a hefty college engineering text book at least twice this length. Or perhaps from two books covering two semesters. It is minus the fluff and minus the detailed reasoning behind each LEED category. Hell could possibly be trapped in LEED meetings for eternity. I am a Mechanical Engineer with an MBA now in my 50s. There is an *enormous* amount of detailed material to know to pass a LEED Green Associate certification as you will learn. I carefully read and reread each chapter for about three focused hours each day spanning 2.5 weeks. When I was done I took the Practice exam #1 and also marked which ones I was unsure about. I got 35% of the questions wrong and was unsure about another 30% which I apparently guessed correctly. The practice exams are difficult and designed to trip you up if you skimmed the material. I did not look at the detailed test answers or which answer was the right answer. I re-studied each part of the book pertaining to the questions I failed or was not confident about. I took the Practice exam #1 again. This time I got 20% wrong and still had 15% I was unsure about. I repeated the study procedure (not looking at the right answer or the practice exam detailed answers). I then took Practice Exam #2. I got 25% wrong and unsure about another 25%. It is a humbling experience. More study. Took the exam #2 again. 15% wrong and 15% I was still unsure about. Studied some more and took the actual exam. I passed the first time with 188 score. You need 170 to pass. I'll bet many people who think they can skim this material and "wing it" fail this exam. The sheer volume of information you need to memorize is daunting. The actual exam is easier than the practice exams which is stated in the book. In summation, you'll find the guide very well written as well as the practice exam book. Good luck.

Passed Exam
I passed the exam after using this book to study. I didn't want to spend a lot on study materials so I chose this book and use the usgbc website if I needed more information. This study guide has two practice exams with solutions, rationale of solutions and appendices with all necessary information to study for the practice exams. I definitely recommend this book!

Great Book but unfortunately the practice exams were not similar to the actual exam, needs updating
I would give this a 5 star review if the questions were similar to the exam. The questions are great to practice your knowledge but don't expect a similar format. In the book there are questions that require pick 2 or pick 3 correct answers but none of that was actually on the exam. The book also breaks down every question and gives you the definitions to even the wrong choices. The format of the book may get confusing because they'll say the answer is B but then go on to explain the definitions of the wrong choices and not explain the correct choice (that's what it seems why this book has low reviews because of confusion). That being said I passed the exam [2020] with this book and the main review book Togay published. I studied for 3 days straight and passed only using these 2 books. The summary sheets are amazing and cover pretty much everything you need to know definitely get the main book for more details.

Perfect Guide for Passing the LEED Green Associate Exam
This and "NEW LEED v4 GREEN ASSOCIATE GUARANTEED" by Adam Ding were the two best study guides I used for the LEED Green Associate exam. I have an arsenal of certifications and this certification exam is the east test I have ever taken. I scored a 190 out of a possible 200 and I have zero (0) experience in construction, I'm an IT guy. This book alone would have probably been enough to pass the exam and coupled with the Adam Ding book would make this cert a piece of cake!!!!

Great Start!
The Book felt thorough, but I did supplement this, plus many other study materials which allowed me to pass my exam on the first try today. I referred to the book a lot and I do believe it helped!
