I wa able to grow eggplants and peppers before transplanting them later into bigger pots

At first I was amiss that these were narrower and longer than the plugs that came with the iDOO iG-310. I inserted them into to the basket and they fell way to the bottom. BUT, after they soak up some water they swell and fit perfectly. It is best to soak them first, then insert. I like the longer length as it will allow succession planting by making contact with a lower water level. The photo shows the size before soaking and after.

Was able to grow many plants.

Every time a plant sprouts in one of these, it then becomes a one-time use item. With that in mind, purchase as many as you can, while you can (while the prices are still reasonable due to the supply shipping issues) and you won't regret it for the life of your iDOO.

Plants are growing just fine, so no complaints here.Only problem was I tried using to start melon seeds that were to be transplanted outside. For whatever reason the roots on the melon wouldn't go down into the sponge, so the seeds germinated then went nowhere. But that's the only seed that did that so I really don't know where the problem was, with the plant's roots or the sponge. Who knows.

Approximately 80% of these sponges only grew mold, no seeds. The description stated that they were appropriate for my growing system (made by the same manufacturer), but they were taller and thinner than the original sponges included with the system. Do not recommend.

Other ones dried out because of length. So far these are longer and don't dry out so far. Time will tell.

Don't understand why these are on sale. They're simply too small for the Idoo basket. The only way to buy sponges for idoo seems to be their very expensive kit which also comes with baskets you don't need and food too. Wish I hadn't bought idoo.

I have a idoo and these sponges are too small. I used one and cut the top third off a second one to fill the cage properly. Once the sponges get wet they then fit perfectly and things have been growing well.Obviously this makes the sponges not very good value though and I don't think replacements should be this hard to find for the idoo but at least I've finally managed to find something that works. Hope this helps.

Disappointed. I bought an IDOO hydroponic system and ran out of grow sponges. Decided to buy from the same brand again because I thought this would be a universal size and should not pose an issues. Turns out I was wrong, the sponges are super tiny and pretty much half the size of the original batch of grow sponges that came with the hydroponic system. Very disappointed - why else do you think I would buy the grow sponges from the same vendor if not because of size?!

Ignore reviews that say they don't fit, as these people have the older system and have not read the product description that explains this. These are exact replacements for the newer IDOO system and I have had no issue growing veg in them.

For me, hydroponics has been a bit hit and miss. The best crop so far is salad leaves which work well with these sponges. I don't know of any other sponges on the market so can't compare them.
