It works great!
"Buy the tool, and learn to use it", is my life's philosophy. It's saved me more money than I'd ever make, and I have the tools I need to do anything I need done. That said, this tool comes with poor instructions, but who reads them anyway, right? Has everything you need to break your old chain and install your new one. Grind your rivet heads off to facilitate an easy extraction... Had to get creative with pressing the new plate on because the instructions were lacking and confusing, videos are hard to find and don't really go into it well... BUT, if you watch a few videos, it becomes self explanatory. The quality of the materials feels good, with the exception of the rod used to turn and tighten the assembly. I used a 14mm wrench to do the work, and it gives a nice solid feel instead of the rod, which felt like it would bend. For half the price of the other brands, this one did exactly what I needed it to, and will last through several chain replacements. Money well spent, experience gained, job well done. Couldn't be happier.

If you use the tool correctly
Decent quality for price not an everyday use tool...I do motorcycle chains ever once in awhile along with custom chains and if you are a mechanic and know how to use tools correctly and not just crank on things it works perfect. If I was a mechanic that uses it all the time invest in a higher quality...BUT FOR THE PRICE...AWESOME!!! Pic 1 grind then press outPic 2 press and anvil...learn how to use and thumbs up

First time riveter.
First time installing a new chain. I cut it off with an angle grinder so I can’t say much for the needling power, but worked great riveting. Definitely needed some pressure for those rivets! Every .1mm was intense! But she held up just fine, the chain and tool. Twist like hell a quarter turn, back off to check, twist like hell, repeat. Hands definitely felt it afterwards. The pressure plate guide was also tricky to line up without it twisting out of place, so I placed one of the needles under a corner to stop it from doing so until it had enough pressure to stay in place.Pretty straight forward design, it’s pretty impossible to put a plate/anvil in the wrong spot, which is nice because the instructions are pretty lacking. YouTube has some pretty decent instructions though.Overall great tool. Highly recommend an angle grinder and just using this as a riveter but I’m sure it works okay. Definitely worth the money.

Watch the how to Video!
Paper directions that come with it are damn near useless. I've never changed a chain before. I didn't realize they had a how to Video available in the listing till I was reading the questions and answers. Video only shows you how to break a chain but you get the idea of how rivet a chain after breaking a chain. Just substitute the breaking pin with the rivet pin and use a rivet anvil in the bottom part. Chain link looks as good as the previous chain. They need to work on their included written directions.

Total garbage as of July 2023 - DO NOT BUY!
I used this chain breaker on an OEM Kawasaki 525 chain. I know how to use a chain breaker and this one just isn't up to snuff. Both the top and bottom guides feel like they're made out of lead as the metal on the opening where the pin pops out just bent, smeared, and obstructed the pin guide hole on the first use, creating a situation where the pins bent and snapped when used according to instructions.Do not make the same mistake I did. I'm going to shell out the extra cash for a Motion Pro tool.

Worked for a Surron chain
I bought this kit to remove a couple links on a new Renthal 420 chain for my Surron electric bike. Worked great! Comes with everything you need to work on a variety of chains. I used the smallest punch for the 420 chain. Also, I have this same tool kit rebranded other places online for double or triple the price. This is the one you want to get.

Good for in a pinch
Used twice before it deformed parts of itself. Definitely worth saving $100+ though
