Absorbed Quickly
I love this brand. I looked at several other brands. Didn't like the fact that it took so long to dry the product. My sister recommended the Pig Sock and I love it. It dries fast and keeps the water in my walk-in shower in the shower.

Woukd great!
I like this product! It is cleaner that the other kind of pings! Not sure why they call them that but…..absorbing sock. They dry nicely? I spin mine out in the washer. Then hang to dry. I use them in my enclosed porch. The door leaks when it rains hard . Would buy again. Works great!

Worked all Year, and it was a wet year - KEEPING DEER OUT OF MY GARDEN
This is the more expensive option for these absorbent socks, and well worth it. No wear or tear or UV degradation. So, what I did was toss these into a 5 gallon bucket, packed em in the bottom, so i didn't have to use any more scented oils than possible, and dumped in about 2 qt of assorted clove, mint, sage, eucalyptus oils and some water to bring it up to top of packed socks. A day later I laid them in a dotted line around a flower bed. Deer nibbled away at plants at other bed, but not that one. They dried out nicely in fall, but if they had been wet when i brought them in, I'd have laid them out in a sheltered area to finish drying out before storing for the winter.fyi I browsed Amazon for bulk sources of scented oils? extractions? Look around, don't buy the little ones carefully made for aroma therapy, the qt size bulk ones work just fine.

Pricey but the best available
I previously purchased another brand which was highly rated at the time but since discontinued, probably because it was total garbage. I don't know why PIG is so expensive, but it works much better than the other brand which cost almost as much. PIG is not an ideal solution, but sometimes you need something quick and simple, and PIG comes thru. It seems to work best with water that is slowly trickling/dribbling rather than bursts of water at a time, because the outer fabric seems to be a tiny bit repellent before it starts absorbing. Overall, it does the trick and I would buy again.

A great product!
This does exactly what I needed! I have a refrigerator that sweats profusely in the summertime and wets the floor randomly year round, due to freezing of the auto defrost line. I got tired of using towels to mop up, and lined the base with these. They soak up all the water, and protect the floor and our feet. They release the water slowly through evaporation, if I forget to pick them up and take them outside. If I notice in time, I hang them in the sun for a few minutes and they dry quickly and are ready to go again. Wish I had bought them years ago, when my kids loved to play wave pool in the bath tub!

they kinda work
With yet another big rainstorm here in NJ, I was able to put these PIG socks to the test immediately. During the past winter, we have had a series of big rain events. The subsoil hasn't had a chance to dry out between storms, and I've been getting small seepage puddles along two walls in my basement. The socks did absorb some water, but I suspect it was much less than the claimed capacity. I had plenty of "free" water that did not get absorbed and had to be mopped up. So while the socks DID work to some extent, I'm not sure if my $60+ was well-spent.

Pricey - but worth it to keep leaks at bay
My apartment's basement leaks when it rains and hasn't been properly addressed by management. Subsequently, a number of boxed items were ruined by the little "river" running across the floor to the drain. After my siblings suggested absorbent "socks", I set the 4 socks up (overlapped at their ends) to capture any future leaks that come in, and they appear to have worked.Additionally, when my hot water tank leaked as it was being drained for removing, I quickly stemmed the "tide" with one of these socks, and it worked. The water didn't get through the sock to do any damage. These are a great band-aid for this kind of issue. They are washable (although I haven't yet needed to), which is a plus, and a good length.I imagine they could also be used to direct water where you want it to go (e.g. to a drain) by lining them up on both sides to make a channel, but keep the water from exiting the sides of the channel.Pricey, but worth it to control leak problems.
