Great little bear!
With my oldest son, I had a similar product, so I definitely wanted to find this for my new addition. I am SO glad I did.To be honest, I don't really need the bear. If I could just get the little mechanism inside, that would be perfect because you really shouldn't have anything in the crib or bassinet anyway. I just use the part that makes the sound and it works like a charm. At night, if my son seems like he is about to wake up, I can usually get another hour of sleep by leaning over into his bassinet and swatting the machine to turn it on. Loud sounds and being tapped trigger it to turn on. It lulls my little guy back to sleep and I get a few more zzz's.For nap time, I stopped rocking my son to sleep. Instead, I swaddle him and turn on the vibrations for him and he falls asleep. It's so much easier than getting him to fall asleep in my arms and then having him wake up once I set him down.I've been using it for three months and haven't had to replace the batteries. It's the only baby item I have that is still on its first set of batteries!

Adorable and sSoothing for Baby
I purchased this for a niece with a newborn suffering from colic. I knew first hand from my experience 27 years ago when I had a very fussy infant and over the years have purchased for new mothers. This allows baby to hear the sound it was used to when inside their mother and it soothes and makes them settle easier and feel comforted. A nice feature is that it shuts off once there is no movement from the infant, therefore, saving the battery life.Washable and easy care. (The sound box can be taken out).Highly recommended and invaluable when you are exhausted and need some extra help!

Perfect gift for new baby!!
I think this is the 5th of these I've bought. It is perfect to help the baby sleep, the womb sound is soothing. The mom of the prior purchased came by for me to see Maverly and said "The bear is a life saver!" I even bought rechargable batteries with charger so they don't have to run out.

A Life Saver for our Preemie to help her sleep
My daughter was a preemie with reflux and it was hard to get her to sleep. This was the ONLY thing that got her to sleep. We removed the womb machine from inside the bear and attached it to her crib. It almost always made her drift off to sleep and stay asleep. We tried MP3's of womb noises and nothing worked until this. The bear is cute and soft and will cling to the crib but we preferred just pulling out the machine. Only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because this thing eats batteries! It is amazing how many we went through. So you ether need to stock up on batteries or have lots of rechargeable ones. Second it only runs for 5 minutes unless triggered by motion so since her crib was next to the bed we were constantly starting it again since by the time she triggered it to run she would have been fully awake and screaming.

Always LOVE the 'Womb Bear'
My son had one when he was born, and now, almost 9 years later, a friend of mine was having a child and I went and searched a lot of stores and found it here. Love these bears. In my experience, the sounds these bears put out drastically help the child sleep comfortably every night. And as they grow, it becomes a comfort item if you keep the bear with them. I loved this bear and so too does my friend. Both of our children have slept all night every night since birth. Now, I know this is just speculative, that it is due just solely to the bear, but it almost seems like it. Like I said, we love this 'womb bear'.I have looked at other 'womb sound' plush toys, but found them too stiff or weird looking, like I wouldn't want to take the item out of the house if I owned it, which defeats the purpose of comforting the child with the sounds if you only use it once in awhile. This bear is soft and no choking hazards. Even the stitching over the nose is soft. The blanket is removable so if there are any accidents, it can be easily washed and taken care of. The sound box fits into its slot, and easily removable for change of batteries, or complete removal due to child's age.I did and will recommend this product to anyone with a child on the way. Best day to start the acclamation into the world is by this bear on day one hour one.

Realistic intra-uterine sounds
I remember using a similar bear 24 years ago (back then I believe it was called the womb bear) for my daughter. It was the newest thing out and I had to have it. I was so glad I bought it because my daughter really loved the womb sounds and it made her quiet right down when I turned it on. Now 24 years later my daughter is having her own daughter in about 6 weeks, and I looked and read reviews on so many of these type of products. This one has the actual intra-uterine, recorded womb sounds. It features an audio pacifier with an actual recording made inside a mother's womb. It was invented by a doctor and used in hospital nurseries for over 27 years. I listened to a lot of these bears, lambs, giraffe's, etc. Most of them just played very poor sounding heartbeats and other sounds I don't think a newborn would even respond to let alone be soothed by. I highly recommend this particular bear to anyone who is looking for a product that soothes newborn babies by hearing womb sounds that they have listened to for 9 months in their mommies tummy. I even bought a second one for my daughter-in-law in blue for my new grandson.Prince Lionheart Original Slumber Bear with Silkie Blanket - Pink
