18" riser - a step up
Quick and easy. Stepping up from a 6" pipe to an 18" so the sprinkler head can disperse water above the current brush line. After years of growth some sprinkler heads are beginning to disappear and get overgrown becoming part of the landscape. These 18" threaded 1/2" riser pipes are the easiest upgrade on my sprinkler system yet. The idea and execution worked perfectly and the same sprinkles in the same zones are now many more times effective with much better coverage.

works as it should
I used this riser to repair the plumbing in my bathroom. The workers said it was the right size. Delivery was instant!

Basic riser - they are just cheaper than they used to be.
I have been using pvc risers for years. They seem to be getting more brittle than they were in the past. They have a tendency to break more than they used to. But these seem as good as any of the other ones on the market - I am not sure anybody makes a riser/nipple that is super durable anymore. Simply a no-frills necessity for sprinkler systems.

Get what you pay for
This item is as simple as it gets. it's a plastic pipe. well made, threads with my black steel nipple pipes just fine. I use this for legs to a DIY desk stand for laptops. sturdy and works. was pennies on the dollar and worked great.

Height is an advantage.
Like the height, gets tall to lower bushes on our hills. Lots of green here and it makes it easier to get two areas instead of one at a time.

No male wants questions on size
There look gorgeous BUT all four I ordered had 'small' threads and screwed in all the way until the threads were completely in the fittings and still weren't tightIt took a TON of Teflon tape wrapped on each fitting to get them to not leak. Eventually I took them out and used thick plumbers paste to deal them, letting it cure for 48 hours before putting water pressure back on them. Note that it's only 30 PSI household water so not much pressure at all. Also note that these screwed into several different manufacturers fittings and valves and they (the plastic nipple being reviewed) all were loose thread fit so it wasn't what I was screwing into that was oversize (AND some other brand nipples fit fine in those same valves these nipples were loose in)

Soft plastic threads so be careful
Is a decent product except the thread plastics are somewhat weak and soft I can actually bend the threads with my fingernails. I should have bought rainBird.
