P65.4C Phantom Series 6.5 Car Door Speakers - 400 Watts Max, 4 Way, Full Range, Tweeters, Coaxial, Sold in Pairs

Fits well enough- barely- in my 1990 geo prizm. The old speakers were rotten and driving me nuts! Since I picked up the car dirt cheap I wanted some dirt cheap speakers, but I'm picky about sound, so didn't want the new speakers to suck... Yeah, tough situation... I did some research and found these. I like that they are 4 way. They sound great and they're very responsive. I think I need an amp though... But overall they can't be beat for the price. update- 30 Nov 2012 To flesh out my review and provide background- I bought a Boss 612UA MP3-Compatible Digital Media AM/FM Receiver as a low-powered stereo so I could play MP3s off my iPhone or MP3 player on my commute, and some Pyle PL573BL 5-Inch x 7-Inch and 6-Inch x 8-Inch 300 Watt Three-Way Speakers for rear speakers. The stereo is great. The Pyle speakers get 1 star because one sounds fuzzy and blown (only a month in with that weak stereo!). These little Boss speakers are champs for the price. I wanted to wait a while for them to get broken in and have a wide range of music piped through them so I could give a better review. They handle classical, rock/metal (DragonForce), symphonic metal (Within Temptation), and dance (Cruxshadows) with ease and clarity on the 50 watt x4 stereo. I'm able to pick out details I wasn't catching before. They're not heavy on bass (obviously), but for $20, I don't think you'll find a better little speaker (heck, for multiples of that price). I did not expect the amount of clarity I got, and am blown away by getting it at this price! The fact they are 4 way makes a difference. Don't expect miracles, and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Keep in mind that I'm using a cheap under-powered stereo, so I'm not challenging these or throwing them as much as they could/should take, but at my max volume they're still loud (just not ear-bleeding loud) and clear and great for my commute. If you need great little speakers and aren't looking to spend a lot- these are them.

I installed these on a 98 Chevy ext cab (3 door) for a welcome home present for my husband(he was gone for the military). The original speakers are located in the truck towards the top by the back window. Well those are 4x6. I cut a hole in the back door and on the other side in the same place.(Its only a door in one side) And i just clipped the wire and put new wire running under the carpet. I drilled a hole in the side of the door and ran the wire up through the door seal. I had to cut some metal too, not just the plastic panels. You have to have something to mount the speaker to. And put foam in between the speaker and metal or it might rattle. I used the same speaker for the front but in the 6.5 inch round. I also have the Boss Bass800 Amplified Sub and the Boss BV7320 Receiver. It sounds absolutely amazing for a low cost system. I wish I would have bought a better receiver as this one is hard to wire in and I still haven't figured out how to get the video to work. I also can't use the aux cables but I'm assuming its the same reason that the video won't work. I tried contacting customer service but I always get put on hold and I left a message a couple times but never heard anything back. That's why it only gets 4 stars. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. But, It is a very good product. The system has been in about 4 months and it still sounds good. The sub is broke in now. It gives just enough bass for a truck. The receiver has started making a weird noise when turning on coming from the CD player. Not sure why.

I bought these speaker to try them out and got good sound but base not so good it’s good for hight but if you need them to be a factory replacement and you don’t care about alittle base then get them

I replaced the speakers in my Quad Cab Dakota (that I just had totally restored) with these Boss Phantoms in all 4 doors..I do love quality, but didn't want to spend a ton of money on fancy component speakers and amplifiers, as I have done that with past vehicles. Like other reviewers, I spend many hours doing my research finding the right fit for my needs. I got them quickly from Amazon and I was super impressed by the quality and finish of these speakers. These speakers are way better than the stock speakers (dual cone) could ever be, but they were starving for power that my stock radio couldn't give them. Needless to say, I replaced the factory stereo with a VR3 deck I had with preamp output and purchased a Rockford Fosgate Punch 4 channel amp/w 300watts RMS. With 75 watts RMS to drive each speaker(rated @ 100 watts RMS) these speakers crank, don't distort, tight hard hitting bass and great sound quality. I don't see how they can sell these so cheap ? They are worth so much more. The addition of even a modest sized powered sub woofer would really round this system out. I highly recommend them !!!

I replaced old paper cone speakers in my 1992 VW Westfalia. Improved the sound by 200% at least. It's a joy to listen to once again.
