Vincente Sicilian Cream of Pistachio Nut Spread, 7.05 Ounce

Okay, a couple years back, I was at the famous Zingerman's Deli in Ann Arbor, and out of curiosity, I saw that they had a jar of pistachio spread. Now, I had no idea that such a thing existed. I've heard of almond butter, heck I've even seen cashew butter. So it would make sense that they would do pistachio butter, or at least a cream spread version of it. I looked at the jar, saw that it was $25, I blanched, then put it back on the shelf. Fast forward two years (okay, 18 months, I round up) and all of a sudden, I just felt that hunkering for pistachio spread. You know how that is. You just want to try something you've never had before because for some reason, it just sounded sooo good. Granted, that doesn't always pan out. I once did that with sweet potato fries, and that did not end well for me. I have also tried the Healthy Choice Barbecued Steak and Potatoes, and I'm sorry, but spuds smothered in BBQ sauce should be branded hazardous to both your health and taste buds. So yes, I'm still working through my issues with the salty sweet thing. Anyway, I just had to try this. The color might scare some people off. Seriously, it looks like dookie. But don't let that scare you off. This is one of the most delicious spreads I've ever had the pleasure to try. And for a sweet treat, it isn't loaded down with fat and has less calories than one might expect. Of course, that shouldn't excuse you to devour a whole jar. But after a taste, you might want to. I can't recommend this enough. It's fantastic.

Absolutely love this product! Great for cheese and crackers, drizzled on marscapone stuffed dates, and even used it in a Pistachio cream sauce with veal and crab meat and crushed pistachios. No one I know has ever heard of this so it's fun introducing them to something so different and delicious! Pricey but a little goes a long way. Worth every penny!

I baked my croissants last night, and filled this Sicilian pistachio spread. I should have applied a thick spread. Eventually, i topped on warm croissants. It was easy to spread. It was yummy, creamy and mix it thoroughly for the oils and nut spread come together. It was sweet and tasted like roasted pistachios. So good! The packaging was 4/5 because there is oil residue that leaked, eventhough it was bubble wrapped. I would buy this on the holidays to make pistachio cookies, or make pastry cream with it. This is a delicious, superior flavor and product.

I loved it because I simply love pistachios. It is regarded as a good alternative for Nutella-style products. It is normally easy to spread, but I refrigerated it after I opened it. When it comes out of the fridge, it is a little difficult to spread. If you're looking for a product made entirely of pistachios, this one has a pistachio content of 66%. Also, keep in mind that it is high in calories. Also a warning says consume in 30 days after openning.

I bought two jars. The product was delicious, but one of the jars had a lid not on tightly and when I opened the bubble wrap for that one, a lot of the product was seeping on the outside of the jar. The lid looked like it was dinged, which caused this issue to happen. I don't know if it was dinged after wrapped in bubble wrap (hard to see how that would happen), or if it was just wrapped with this defect and sent. The letter was probably the case and the leakage happened when it was tossed and turned in transit. The product is very good. Better care needs to be done in packaging it to be sent. I would request a refund on one of these.

I'm not an expert...but this tastes like the real deal. I was feeling nostalgic about cornetti con pistacchio (pistachio croissants) that I ate while I was in Rome a few years ago. Turns out, I can buy this pistachio cream and bake some croissants in the oven, and it's a great replica while I'm not traveling right now! This specific item is a little expensive, but it had good ratings. I see why now! So if you're looking for a special treat, this is it :)

Must try with The Modal Bakery's English Muffins. If you dont live in Napa Valley where the baker is you can order them through Gold Belly. It is worth it!
