Came back to give more stars & add to my review.
Edit 3/6/25: Considering I am in a 7-week botanical course currently with a famous herbalist & acupuncturist citing how Mastic was mentioned by historical figures, like Dioscaredes (books available here on Amazon & elsewhere), I decided to up this from 3 to 5 stars while I reading monographs on Mastic. I have been using tiny broken off pieces of the "teardrop" resin every day. Even citing some jaw issues below, I am enjoying this. I can not speak for long-term benefits yet. I recommend you do your own research on resin medicine, like Mastic. Considering this is chewed, it is considered generally safe for MOST people & can help support oral/GI issues & general health for MOST people. Not everyone will like this & some may have issues or bad reactions to this or any other product they try.Original review:3 stars for now. I might come back over time to edit if I see benefits or not.I recently saw some YouTube folks & articles discussing this for various issues & how it might help them. I decided to try it. I missed that it was a 25-gram package for less than $15. So the size surprised me right away.I do have some jaw issues, so I wasn't sure how great this would be for me, since I'm really not supposed to chew gum in the first place.I do enjoy a lot of pine-spruce-evergreen herbal teas & such, so I was intrigued if this would be a good flavor or maybe soapy or just a flat-out no.The piece I showed in my hand was easily broken off to try a small sliver. It was "just plain" at first, but then the slightly resinous pine flavor kicked in as I started to chew. For me, it is quite nice. I like it. I'm sure the flavor is not for everyone. This definitely should not be purchased on a "breath freshener" status alone.I was hoping that this would have some cross-over benefits like evergreen herbals do & maybe help a bit to strengthen my jaw muscles. As I type this up, it is getting a bit more difficult to chew. Reminds me of decades ago chewing gum in school & it just being quite rough after a few hours. My order was only delivered about 30 min ago, so there's no way this would last very long.In closing, I wanted to give this a whirl for my own issues I deal with daily & decide for myself it would be worth continuing to purchase in the future for long-term & occasional use.

Quality Product but Beware Learning Curve
This was an adventure purchase. After reading the book "Breath" by James Nestor, I was looking for some mastic gum or gum that gives the jaw a workout without any kind of real or artificial sugar. I purchased the Turkish gum Falim, unsweetened, and this Cerez Pazari Natural Greek Mastic Gum. I was intrigued by the all-natural mastic ingredient and what Hippocrates said about it as being medicinal. I found it difficult to chew so that's good. It's clean and attractive but has a lot of crumbled pieces -- not uniform pieces. The thing I couldn't tolerate nor did I expect was a residue that has coated the back of my throat and feels like up into my sinuses. It has a mild pine taste. Coupled with the residue it makes me think of pine tar that drips from trees and sticks to everything. I rated it 3 stars for value because it's a specialty product that you can't buy anywhere. I think it's high quality so if you are definitely sure you want this product, this is a good brand. I had to spit mine out after one minute. I'm not even going to try to like it. On the other hand the Falim gum, mint, sugarless is the way to go if you want jaw exercise without sugar. It has zero sugar, gives you a workout, and has no taste other than a slight mint flavor.

As pleasant as a workout.
First, taste is subjective but if you're looking at this gum you're probably not here for the taste anyway. IMO it's fine. Not good tasting but not bad. Second, refrigerator storage may help if they're melted together but otherwise, it's not necessary. The best way to begin chewing without it sticking to your teeth is to let it soften a bit in your mouth, then slowly and softly chew, roughly shaping it until it warms up and becomes chewable.Third, I get the value for how much come in the package but after chewing on a piece for a few hours my jaw needs a rest. It's a workout so unless you have a chiseled jaw, you're probably not going to want to chew this all day long. And because no one is chewing this for the flavor, there's no need to use multiple pieces a day. Indeed, I have let my gum dry out, put it in a container and chewed it again a few days later. No change in consistency or flavor.

This is why we have plastic gum that is flavored junk
Well if you're looking for a soft bubble gum chew this ain't it. The reason I am chewing this stuff is because it isn't made of vinyl or latex like most chewing gum. It's authentic tree sap, chewn (?) chown, (?) CHEWED for some 2,500 years. It's definitely herbal tasting, but mild. The flavor isn't bad just not very strong. It's not enjoyable to chew for long, but I did consume it rather than spit it out. Mastic has plant essential oils in it that are health promoting including alpha pinene which is basically a part of a tree's immune system which can strengthen our own. If you google forest bathing or a-pinene and nk cell activity, or phytoncide and NK cells you'll find some good stuff. It does freshen the breath. I think that while it won't replace my xylitol gum and is quite expensive and not very tasty that I will continue to chew it for a while and see how it goes.

Don’t expect it to be like the gum you are used to.
“Far left piece of normal gum used as a reference for size”.Note you must place this mastic gum In your lip like chewing tobacco for a minute or so until the gum becomes hard. Once hard you can chew and it does not get stuck to your teeth. If you do not do this step you will have this gum stuck to every tooth, filling, and crevice in your mouth. Also, note this product has a very unique taste and does not taste particularly good. This gum is to strengthen your jaw not to taste good.If you are truly interested in strengthening your jaw this will help but if you cannot take the bad taste this product will not be for you.Non returnable which makes sense since you need to break the seal to open.
