Q: Is there any advantage to this tool over just swapping in a known good relay? I'm not seeing the value here.

There are plenty of advantages to this if you know how to use it. Swapping with a known good relay will only tell you if the issue is the relay or not. This will allow you to check the power and ground to the relay while leaving it plugged in, this way you can check the voltage in a completed circuit. Example would be power wires with relay unplugged will show 12v, same wire with the relay plugged in could be 5v because of resistance on the wire, or ground wire can read 0ohms like there is nothing wrong but if you plug the relay back in there could be voltage on it indicating a bad ground. Resistance checks are not a good test for wires because resistance changes with heat, and once the circuit is under load the wires can heat up causing the circuit to fail.

Not for fuses but works well on any relays.

holy lancer most relays are universal theres a good chance it will fit I would look at a info source ie Mitchell alldata motologic and look at the relay box top view and look at the pin designation best of luck to you

Great value for the price and works on alot of newer cars.

Well designed and great tool to have, esppedially when relays are in a bad area like right side kick panel instead of the engine compartment. They can make life alot easier and offers easier way to test some circuits. Easy to grip when removing speeding up your time spent doing some tests.

A great kit and the parts are built well.

A little pricey but nowadays you can't afford to short out relays with computers involved. This kit allows me to lift the relay up higher to test it. Works great.

Come for the Relay Adapters and Stay for the Jumper Wires

This is an exceptional product! The relay adapters allow the user to easily check the presence/absence of signals to a relay. The relay pliers are an exceptional bonus for the kit. It provides enough mechanical advantage to extract a relay without causing damage or marring surfaces. The relay pliers can also be used to disconnect automotive connectors; for example removing tough connectors to a fuse box.The biggest benefit of this kit is the jumper wires! The wires have various male & female attachments that can plug into sockets or pins. The jumper wire set also has a ground wire set with fuse protection in addition to a metal clamp that can attach to chassis ground. This jumper wire set easily interfaces with multimeter leads too!Bottom line: Excellent tool for troubleshooting relays, electrical wires in a car, or other electrical project. The jumper wire set and relay pliers may become the most used items from this kit! They have already paid for itself in reducing troubleshooting time!

LIsle 46950 Relay Pliers.

These relay pliers are a must have tool to me. With many relays/fuses placed close together and hard to grip with just your fingers this tool makes the job easy. I have damaged my share of relays using slip joint or needle nose pliers. I won't say you can never damage a relay with the relay pliers but sure reduce the chance of you doing so. They will also pull most of the fuses you will find also.

This thing is a finger-saver and saves the frustration from those super tight under-dash relays (looking at you Honda turn signal/main relays..)
