Book Review
Confronting Injustice Book ReviewTo start off I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I thought it was very insightful and relevant to our society today, A few main topics I really enjoyed reading about that felt really relevant to me and I would hope every reader, starts off with racial injustice and how it affects us, we read about “if our vision of social justice promotes racial strife”, as well as seeing the christian perspective on this.It goes over how God has made all of us equal and fearfully and wonderfully made, but do our words and actions reflect those truths? We went over systematic justice, racial profiling, and mass inceratian. Another topic I liked was “Does our vision of social justice embrace divisive propaganda”, it went over how when societies get angry they tend to blame there lives troubles on damnable groups, this was a tuff topic because of how common it is in our society nowadays, but it was very imformable, the christian views answer to this question would be that God has called on all of us to love one another equally and when we turn from each other and step off God's path that's when our views and opinions can be hurtful to everyone around us. Another topic I enjoyed reading about was “Does our vision of social justice turn the “Lived experience” of hurting people into more pain”, this topic mostly goes over how great the impact listing can create, breakdown, and how to react and learn from hurtful events, it first starts of by going over as christians it's our duty to listen to others with open ears and open hearts, just as God does for us, like this section said, it's impossible to bear someone's burdens unless we truly listen and put ourselves in their shoes, it also went over how there are many people who suffer from phobias and trauma, but that doesn't make us who we are and soon enough we'll realize that we shouldn't let these things take over our lives, I really liked that section because I thought it was really comforting to not only keep in the back of my head but take action on it. Another topic I found interesting in this book was “Does our vision of social justice make one way of seeing something the only way of seeing everything”, what I liked about this topic was it went over how sometimes our selfishness and greediness can take over , and it makes us miss what's actually in front of us, we tend to look down on the truth and push it aside, but in reality when in doubt we should be looking to the gospel instead of completely giving up on what's morally right. In all I really enjoyed reading this book, I like how honest the author was and I thought it was super interesting to see someone finally say what needed to be said even though it could create a lot of controversial problems.-Anna Mayou

Staying True to Biblical Justice
Social Justice and Critical Race Theory were extremely "Hot Topics" for the early part of 2020 in lieu of the police shootings, violent riots, and peaceful protests that engulfed the news and social media platforms to the point it made us forget about COVID-19. The topics, while not at the forefront now with the elections being over and COVID-19 taking the spotlight again, does not mean these topics are still not being talked, preached about, or are infiltrating the education systems.Thaddeus J. Williams humbly and eloquently addresses the struggle that Christians face when it comes to "Social Justice". When I heard about this book coming out through The Center for Biblical Unity, I pre-ordered my copy right away. The book did not disappoint. As a Christian who holds to historical Christianity, this book has challenged me and convicted me on so many levels. It provides hope, and urges Christians that our First Priority is to spread the Gospel "The Good News", Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, and to free us from the oppression of our sin. By keeping the Gospel our first priority, then God's justice "biblical justice", will flow out from our transformed hearts. Williams takes great care in explaining the issue with Social Justice and the church, and his explanations are well researched, with lots of footnotes. I always look for that, and he uses Scripture in its correct context another important item I look for. Throughout the book Williams discusses two types of Social Justices (A and B), and which type of social justice the Christian can stand behind. I also, love how Williams's message keeps pointing the reader to see all people as "image-bearers" (Made in the image of God), and that we are all sinners, and have the potential to cause either great evil or great good on this earth. The book also has already written in study questions, so you can do this as an individual study or a group study. I am currently doing this on my own, but I looking forward to taking a group through the book too. Because that leads to good conversations, whether they be deep, challenging, or hard. This is a book every Christian and Christian leader/influencer should read. As Christians, we should be passionate about seeking justice. But we have to weigh at what expense are we willing to do that and are we keeping in line with God's justice or the world's view of justice. I appreciate so much the time and dedication and the courage that Williams took in writing and getting this book published. After reading Williams's book I am more confident now when it comes to fighting injustice biblically, and I don't have to compromise the Bible in order to do it.I would encourage those of you who are not Christians to read this book too! I think you would genuinely enjoy this read, even if you don't agree with Christianity, I think you will see not only a different side to Christianity but that we agree on a lot more than we differ. I think it would also give you a different perspective about Christians/Christianity than what you have been exposed to.

A must read for any Christian seeking biblical truth
One of the most profoundly insightful books I’ve read this year (and I read 50+ books a year). It provides clear definitions and examples of the social issues we are facing today with an easy to follow but comprehensive analysis. He then directs the reader to scripture that speaks directly to the issue at hand allowing you to see whether or not God’s Word supports said view. This book should be read by every Christian teacher, preacher or simply any Christian looking to understand how biblical truth can be easily distorted with the very best of intentions.
