63 Brother Colors Embroidery Machine Thread

This is a great set of colors at a price that almost seemed too good to believe. I use my embroidery machine pretty heavily, and these colors leave a beautiful shine to the finished product, with greater durability than the more expensive brands. The only downside is that they do not have a thread catch and the number is just a sticker on the top that must be removed, but these problems were easily remedied by cutting a notch in the bottom of the spool and placing the sticker on the inside. For the few people who were complaining about frequent breaks, I would suspect the culprit has to do with not using the proper bobbin thread. Many Brother machines, like my PE770, require 90 weight bobbin thread to run optimally, which is a little heavier than regular bobbin thread. Overall, this is a great starter set for new embroiderers, or to fill out your collection for those who frequently use their machine.

The package arrived quick and protected. We love the vibrant colors of the threads. The only thing is that it took a lot of time to sort them out on a rack as their name is on the top and easily rips. Also the photo shows them in a rack as if they come in a rack but they did not, they come all together in a box so I recommend ordering the rack at the same time. They are very durable, do not rip easily, and are beautiful colors. I highly recommend them. FYI they are small so don't be surprised when you receive them. The great thing about them is that you get to test and see 63 color varieties from a good company.

I just purchased the Brother SE425 and this collection of embroidery thread and I have been quite pleased with it. The colors and numbers match the Brother/Disney colors. I have downloaded a few Disney designs and all my designs have come out beautiful. There is some prep work to these spools. I wrote the number on the inside of the spool with a permanent marker & peeled off sticker. I cut a slit on the bottom of spools to keep thread from unwinding. The box they come in is small and some are up and some are down, and are hard to get out and put back in, so I put them in a bigger box to have them all laying flat with spool up in numerical order. I can easily find the color and put it back when done. The only drawback I see is not being able to purchase a single spool of a color that is used most. This is a great kit of many colors and at a reasonable price.

I recently purchased a Brother Dream Creator XE VM5100 and went a bit out on a limb, so I didn't want to spend another fortune on thread right at the outset. After extensive research into various collections, and reading dozens of reviews, I went for this set. I am very happy with my purchase. The colors are so vibrant and the quality is right up there with more costly brands. I have used many of the spools and have not experienced any breakage. The sheen is easily as nice as other poly threads. I do not view the lack of permanent color numbers on the spools as an issue, as I took previous reviewers' advice and put the stickers inside the bottom of the spool and wrote the numbers in marker on the top. I also am not bothered by the lack of a color cross reference chart, as I select the colors for most of my projects visually, anyway. Customer service from the vendor was excellent when I corresponded with them by email. I can't wait to purchase one of their larger collections.

I've used a couple of dozen of these so far, and all the threads worked well, except for one, a light yellow/white, that broke two or three times in a short project. Most of the spools I could find the starting thread easily, and only one was a bear to start and had some loose loops.Note that these are the colors in the brother PE500 quick reference guide on page 20. However, note that some of the patterns in the book use the "country" color code, rather than the "brother" color code -- why I don't know since it is a brother chart, why not use the brother color numbers. So if you buy this thread selection and you're confused because you are looking for a color such as 588 in the brother pattern but it says "country" below the pattern, realize that it is color 007 in the brother conversion charge, and that is what "country" means. All the brother colors from the quick reference guide are in this selection. It is just that brother's quick reference guide actually uses more than one color code in its pattern charts, but that same guide also has a conversion chart where it relates the "country" color codes to the brother color codes. Again, all the brother colors on the conversion chart are in this selection.Regarding these spools, I didn't have any snagging. It would be nice if the color numbers were marked someone on the spool other than the paper label (that you have to remove to put the spool in the machine) and if there was a way to park the thread on the spool in between uses, but these are pretty minor considerations to me.The thread is very shiny and works up well in designs.And the price is reasonable.

I just got my new machine and so far no broken thread. I love the color selection but found one istance in which a number that should have been a creamy brown was a yellow. Once opened the thread is loose with nothing to keep it from unwinding. I used tape inside the bottom of the spool and it worked okay. The price was great and the thread seems to be strong. I can tell the difference when threading between this and Gutermann but for the price I am pleased.Over a month and several projects later: This thread is an excellent value!! I have almost always found a color in this assortment for every project. The thread breaks no more or less than more expensive threads. I will purchase this one again and probably again and again. I even increased my rating to five stars as the value and assortment are well worth dealing with the loose thread and most "Bargain" threads have the very same set up.
