Nomadic 270 LT Passenger Side Awning

Cost is why I chose this brand. I'm very happy with my decision. There are wall options on the company website to make this a fully enclosed awning. Deploys in less then 3min and stows in 4min. if you roll the fabric the right way. Gotta get it rolled TIGHT to get the straps on before flipping the cover back over and zipping it up. Cover is permanently attached and made well. I've had mine installed before summer and other then looking a bit dusty, the Sacramento summer hasn't seemed to diminish the quality. Frame is strong enough to open without using the poles. Of course with most awnings, keeping it open/up in windy conditions is a gamble. It comes with two poles that are attached and get folded up (see picture) and two poles that are removable and get stowed with your gear. all "corners" have sewn loops to attach guy ropes that come supplied to keep it from becoming airborne. Awning material is water proof and sturdy. All seams are waterproofed. I did the install myself without the help of a buddy or two and it was a difficult task due to the weight and the size. Took me well over an hour but with help, you could easily cut that time in half. I love this awning. 10/10 would buy again!

Excellent awning for the money. Versatile mounting brackets and hardware. I wanted something that can deploy quickly for lunches on the road and on the trail in hot or wet weather. This is perfect. The brackets are clearly shown in the pictures, so you get an idea how this mounts. Hardware is high quality and brackets are beefy. Brackets are about 2.5 inches wide where they mount. This was the only 270 awning in this price range that does not require poles for average conditions, but they are there and easy to deploy if needed. Guy lines and stakes are included and of good quality if you expect wind. I will update this if i ever have an issue, but if this is not updated assume ‘so far, so good’!

Awning came in damaged.... Cover was damaged in shipping... Decided to keep the awning and just buy replacement cover . Awning is strong free standing awning. Wish the awning came with wall mount brackets.

Great awning! Brackets shipped separately from the awning but arrived before the awning did. I was able to mount easily to the roof rack using the supplied brackets. Awning seems sturdy and packaged away very quickly. This was a must for me. Tons of coverage and worked great on the FJ!

Received package today, came with a long box that contained the awning, as well as a box with the mounting hardware. Great. Open it up... Awning looks high quality, awesome. Open up the brackets kit.... has the two mounting brackets... awesome, has (3) what appear to be some stainless steel mounts (not u-bolts), flat with two bolt threads coming out and 6 lock nuts... There is nothing to mount the awning to the bracket and the hardware it did come with is not what is shown on the listing nor will it work in a t-slot roof rack, along with not having the U-bolts for universal mounting......... Not sure if they sent the wrong bracket kit? or it's missing items? Also, not a single piece of paper for installation instructions... Not gonna lie, more than disappointed I guess I know have to fight the the seller and/or contact OVS... May update later... so buyer beware? Good luck.

This awning is wonderful. Not just for the shade but the ease of use. Comes with everything you need to mount it. It holds up to the Wyoming wind very well. When the winds get strong just pop down the legs and guild lines and it stays put. Another great product by OVS!

you have to fold it perfectly for it to fit back in the zippere'd case. It's a pain when it's mounted high on the truck. It also acts like a sail with a wind gust (just a gust not even sustained). TBH if I did this over again, I'd buy a pop up canopy--almost as fast & you can leave it to "claim" your camp spot if you want to come back to it. Bought it thinking I'd use it all the time, but it's kind of a hastle and also doesn't do your MPG any favors. If you must have a car awning. Shell out for the Kammok so you can at least stow it away easily. All that said, there are plenty of awnings out there that are absolute trash and this one isn't so that's why the 3/5.

So far, so good! I've used this awning for several months now. It takes almost no time to set up, but putting it away takes a bit of finesse with the zipper sometimes.The awning cover had some loose stitching that failed the first week I had it. I contacted OVS directly and they sent me a new cover after I emailed them some pictures. Great customer service and they really stand by their product.I had to fab up some custom mounts because I don't have a roof rack to use the provided mounts, but that was expected.
