An excellent version of this well known classic.

A good recording of this popular work. Of the many interpretations of these pieces I chose this one because I like the sound of the cymbalom which is featured in the Intermezzo movement of the Hary Janos suite. On this well recorded issue the folk instrument is nicely balanced with the orchestra resulting in a very enjoyable presentation. The other works on this recording - the Dances of Galanta and the Peacock Variations are given a spirited performance which are quite exhilarating. A worthwhile purchase.
