I bought just the engraving knife for about $6. The mat is 12X9 Inch not a large size. Both sides of the surface are head healing pvc, thick and good quality.

I love the mat but the rotary cutter is not great. It doesn’t really cut fabric and the blade comes off while using, you have to constantly tighten it.

I love how thick the board is. I was looking for a simple set and this was perfect. I can't speak for it's longevity just yet but so far the blades are working great.

I've made dozens of duck tape wallets using this mat. The ruler that is included is perfect for cutting straight lines with the exacto knife. The features on the mat, like the ruler are great for measuring tape. This set is great.

This little mat & tools can be used for crafts & office work. Small enough to keep in a folder or box. Make sure kids supervised with the sharp blades. We made some cool crafts with it.
