As expected
More of a "hearing amplifier" than a hearing aid. I am just starting to lose my hearing, and not in the position to lay down hundreds on the real McCoy. For now this seems to do the trick, it is an inexpensive alternative that works for me. Understand what you are buying though. It is larger than the "in ear" style hearing aides I have looked at, and unlike the expensive digital ones it doesn't filter out background noises, it amplifys sounds, ALL sounds, so yes, it does make the TV clearer or louder, but also the water running in the kitchen and the furnace blower in the basement. But it is what it is and now my wife and daughter can listen to the tv at a level comfortable to them, and I can hear it too. It took a few days to get used to it, I only wear it during "TV time". The charger case work well, but the latch hook broke on one while opening it (I purchased two) It doesn't seem to affect the charging though as the lid appears to hold the hearing device in well enough while charging and i suppose a simple fix with a rubber band will do. It came with 3 different ear inserts, the larger one works well for me. As I said the unit is kind of big, so for a person with smaller ears, it might not fit as well. It doesn't even come close to fitting in my ear like the one shown pictured in the add, but it holds secure, and is not uncomfortable once you get used to it. If you are optimistic about what you are buying, and don't expect to be getting the quality of a top dollar hearing aid this might work for you.

A nice little hearing amplifier
When this came in the mail, it took a few minutes to open its case up, learning to press on the front of the charger case and raise it to open it. Then I chose the medium ear bud (it comes with 3 sizes) and that fits on the amplifier inside my ear most comfortably. Then I charged the amplifier overnight as directed and used it. It worked for listening to TV with the sound turned more normally so that my husband and son didn't complain it was too loud. I have 40% hearing loss in each ear, so I tested watching the shows with the Turbo Ear in either of my ears to see what was the best for amplification. Even using only the one Turbo Ear, it did amplify the sound enough to hear it better. I also took it to work and it amplified the office environment enough to be able to hear my coworker speaking in the next cubicle. I took it to the movies but perhaps the theater sound was already loud because it sounded too loud and I took it out (I often get the theater headphones which work better; perhaps they're geared for the movie theater.) I took it to a convention and used it but sometimes crowds can get noisy, in which case, the Turbo Ear provides too much amplification, but it did help me hear personal conversations better. All in all, I am happy with Turbo Ear, but must tell you that the on and off switch (pushing it up toward the volume dial is on, and pushing it down is off) should be turned OFF when you're not using it or else the battery will get drained and need recharging overnight. It says this in the instruction, too, but it's easy to forget and leave it ON. When I did turn it off, I noticed that I could go a day or more and when I turned it back on it worked right away. I keep the volume at 2 or 3, and when you first put it in your ear, there is a momentary whistle, but this tells me it's working and the whistle goes away in a moment. All in all I like the Turbo Ear and recommend it.

These are great because they are rechargeable
These are great because they are rechargeable. My mom gets them over and over again because nothing else on the market is as good for this cheap. The quality of the sound is not that good, but this is what we can afford. It definitely makes a static sound sometimes when she wears it. My mom has tried many other products, but she always comes back to this ear amplifier. Even the ones that had good reviews online, when she used them, she wanted to return them right away. She doesn't like the amplifiers that go over your ear because they feel heavy over her ears and she doesn't find them very comfortable. She also doesn't like the ones that you always have to keep replacing the battery with because you'll have to keep buying batteries. She specifically likes this one also because it has sort of a storage place for the amplifier once she's done using it, and she can also charge it at the same time. The quality does go down as she uses it, and eventually it will start to glitch and not work anymore. So I would say that the quality of this product is not that good but it does the job. My mom really should invest in a better amplifier so that she doesn't have to keep spending money to buy this one over and over again.

Not pleased!
I got this product followed the directions to the last period and it did not work for me. First of all I am a female of five feet three inches and it would not fit my ear canal. I tried it with all of the cushions ear tips it came with including the smallest and then even without one at all and it would not fit. The amplifier would not get as loud as I needed it to either. I suppose I will need to get a real hearing aid over time but this product did not work for me. Beware that when you try to return this item although the company is very nice to deal with they said they would send me a return address for their returns (don't know why they don't just include this in the package to save time) they instead sent me a replacement which won't work since the product does not fit a second one won't either. And then sent me the return label. The product did not fit at all and was not loud enough even all the way up for me which is why I gave it one star.

Problems after some weeks of use
I bought 2 of these sometime back for my parents and in-laws. My mother loved it the first few days. She has problem hearing in one ear and was looking for a quick solution without doing a hearing test and fixing a costly device. Well, it was really good the first couple weeks. Then the volume started dropping somewhat. Also, it would charged out in 2 hours or so. My mom uses it even now, but my in-laws have given up on it. I can't complain a lot, after all it doesn't cost a fortune.
