Beautiful Book but Fussy Recipes, Difficult-to-find Ingredients in US; Uses Nuts and Eggs
I wish I lived near author and chef Henrietta Inman's bakery business in the UK (i'm assuming), because the desserts, cakes and savories showcased in this really beautiful book look so incredible and lovely, and i would love to sample everything she makes! It is very clear Ms. Inman has a heartfelt love for what she does- creating artistic food that is wholesome and good (and clean!). That said, i had a very difficult time finding a recipe straightaway that i could create without finding at least one, and often several specific ingredients that i didn't have at home, nor that i could even easily find in a local market (and i live in Northern CA, US, where we have so many choices). Granted, I don't have a gluten, dairy or any other food allergy, nor have i lived for any time overseas, so i'm a bit of a newcomer to some ingredients such as arrowroot starch, coconut butter, lucuma powder (dried peruvian superfruit- popular flavor in Europe & S.Am., apparently- i had to look it up) or chestnut flour ('had never thought of that, actually), as examples--- i am just someone interested in expanding and experimenting with my food horizons, and using healthful ingredients in my cooking. I did notice tho, that if you are allergic to nuts or eggs, you won't be able to try some portion of these recipes, which often incorporate either or both ingredients.The book is a picture perfect compendium of delish looking treats, that i would love to try making, but for which i am having some trouble finding (and would have trouble affording over time) some ingredients. The coconut yoghurt, for example, is sold at some, but not all Whole Foods stores in containers approximating about $6.59 for 12 oz (akkk!), but which is used in many of the desserts and toppings. A common sweetener used in many recipes is Palmyra nectar powder, which is sold in the US under the tradename SugaVida at the Vitamin Shoppe, and is about $13.95 for 8.8 oz (about 1 cup- even more akkk!). The stocklists on the back page provide some of Ms. Inman's preferred sources for some ingredients, but many of them (not all) are based in the UK- which likely accounts for the higher costs in the US.I would have to say, for me, this book will remain more of an idea book, for which i'll be using various substitutes that i can find and afford more easily- Coconut sugar instead of Palmyra powder perhaps, and that sort of thing. If you are a true foodie, experimenter and are very open minded and serious about your clean foods with unique flavor profiles, definitely get this book. If you absolutely need to follow recipes to a T, live far away from civilization, can't afford expensive ingredients, or just don't want to fuss quite so much, you may want to find a different book.

beautiful book!
Its a very beautiful book. I like all the recipes have the photos and they are very beautiful. They are very healthy recipes and tasty. There are few ingredients that are not so common but I will try to substitute or maybe ommit. Overall, I recommend this book . The author is a very expert one. The book also has muffins, loaf cakes, breads raw cakes, chocolates-.... just to look at the photos and recipes and have a beautiful book, I recommend and if you especially like sweet desserts but also healthy this is the perfect book

Vegano e senza glutine di classe
Ottimo libro di ricette vegane e senza glutine ( solo in alcune ci sono le uova che però sono facilmente sostituibili). Ne ho provate alcune e il risultato é stato al di sopra di ogni aspettativa. Non tutti gli ingredienti sono di immediata reperibilità ma per chi come me è appassionato di alimentazione e benessere a 360° questo ricettario e' proprio una chicca in qualità, sapore ed eleganza

Sehr spannend, aber manchmal zu experimentell.
Total spannende Rezepte und Ideen. Gibt auch ein Rezept für selbst gemachte Schokolade. <3 Die Bilder sind sehr hübsch. Mich stört nur etwas das auf Eier, glutenhaltiges Getreide und Milchprodukte komplett verzichtet wird. Zutaten die der Clean Eating philosophie nicht entgegen stehen und die für mich beim Backen irgendwie dazu gehören.
